The motel has a 1960s retro vibe. The fresh flowers in our unit were a welcome sight. The unit has lots of heating and blanket/doona options. The kitchenette facilities were very adequate so we drove 5 mins to Fairlie and bought supplies from the supermarket to cook breakfast. The Silverstream hotel next door to the motel was our dinner choice and the meals were delicious and generous portions.

Spacious rooms and good kitchen where we were able to make meals. Warm rooms and comfortable beds with electrical blankets. Lovely garden to relax in. Good shower and bathroom. Friendly family run hotel. Liked the folder with local recommendations of what to do around the area (e.g the art gallery across the road). Good base for Tekapo, Dark Sky Project, Fairlie (the bakehouse is very good).

I ended up changing my plans and approaching Kimbell from the opposite direction. i was also going to be later, but motel was accommodating about change in arrival time. This was good as I didn't to then have to rush. Strangely I ended up not seeing any staff during my comfortable stay.

Very comfortable, clean & peaceful. Lovely gardens and gorgeous rose in vase a nice welcoming touch. Loved staying in a small township but close distance to attractions. Added bonus is hotel next door for meals. There was no noise from hotel, a very enjoyable stay.
