Very friendly welcome, very comfortable bed, delicious and generous Taiwanese breakfast. It was close to some fantastic walks - Fenchi trail, and Cedar boardwalk. We had a wonderful view over the town and up to the mountain peaks. All staff were helpful and smiling. We stayed 2 nights and did not want to leave. Each time we returned to the hotel after exploring the area or food streets, it felt like we were coming home. Thank you to everyone at Yeashow Villa Fenqihu. I hope to return one day.

The hotel is exactly as shown in the pictures, superbly located on the Old Street and just 1 minute walk from the bus stop (via a steep road). All the top walking trails are closeby, and even the fireflies area can be reached in less than 10 minutes late in the evening. The front desk staff all speak English and are cheerful and helpful. This hotel is famous for its bento box and dining area, and day-trippers flock here to eat lunch and take pictures. The room itself was large, warm and comfortable in the middle of winter, with a nice view over the rooftops even from my ground floor room (see my picture). It had a dehumidifier and I did not feel/smell any of the dampness that is common in this area. The bathroom was a little dated, but in full working condition and spotlessly clean. Plenty of hot water and good shower pressure and drainage. The floor dried up pretty quickly, due to the dehumidifier. I don't think there is a better place to stay in Fenchihu and I would love to come back and visit.

We loved everything. If I could give it 100 stars I would. Imagine waking up to a beautiful sunrise, and heading out to dig into an amazing spread of food made from their own farm, and once you're full to head aside and have tea with the owner. It's perfect.

Our stay at the guesthouse was truly amazing! The place is beautiful and very comfortable. We had the opportunity to visit the family's tea farm. We also bought their tea - which is delicious - to bring back as gifts for our family and friends.

The property was very comfortable with new and modern facilities. Our host Carol was truly exceptional - a great communicator (fluent English), full of helpful suggestions about how to pass our time there, she also introduced us to the Tea Master owner (our trip was partly tea / business related). He was also very generous with his time and expertise. The breakfasts we had there were delicious. Carol also suggested some great places to eat in neighbouring villages. We were sad to leave. She really made our stay special. Top marks.

Location is great. Around 5 minutes walk to restaurants, convenience stores and fruits/veggies stands. This location is next to to one of the Alishan famous Eryanping Trail (二延平步道) where you can just walk up to see sunrise and sea of cloud (if weather permitted). In fact, if the sky is clear, you can see the sunrise right from B&B balcony. We love the fresh air, view of tea fields and hospitality. The host was very nice and kind. The gentleman (I believe the owner's son) was super helpful. Ms. Yao (OMG, super nice lady) gave us a lot of information about Alishan. She told us different ongoing event in Alishan, what roads are safe to drive and where to get good hot spring experience in Taiwan. We were lucky to see the Sea of Cloud and visited the annual indigenous wedding event. The ladies in the kitchen made very nice delicious breakfast. We had a wonderful stay at this B&B. I highly recommend this BnB! Bye Bye Alishan for now, we will come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Green Incense Homestay. The room was massive and the view from our room to the tea farm was amazing. Breakfast was really delicious and homey, and I couldn't get enough of the ginger tea, perfect for cold weather. We relied on bus to get around and the hosts were super kind to ferry us to the bus stop, nearby restaurants and even to Eryanping for an early hike. They were also very helpful with any inquiries we had on how to plan our trip and we had great conversations with them on the history of the area. The restaurants around this area close early around 7 PM so factor this in if you wish to have dinner in Shizhuo. Overall, we had a great time at the Homestay and really appreciate the kindness of the hosts, their hospitality made the trip so much more enjoyable.

If travelling with older folks (>50y/o above) who are not...

If travelling with older folks (>50y/o above) who are not used to strenuous physical activities, I would recommend 3d2n stay in the area so that they can fully enjoy Alishan without feeling rushed, especially after the long winding drive up. Apart from the Alishan national park itself, I'd highly recommend going for the tea trail/ sakura trail/ mist trail around Shi Zhao Tea plantations in the morning if the weather is good.

Breeze area with nature forest and Alishan tea hills. Must visit! Really a recharge to be there. If you have time stay there 2 nights at least to explore the area and unwind yourself in the nature. 1 night is still too short.

Back to nature.

Back to nature. It has a lot of walking trails with awesome views. Love the tea oil Chicken and fried stream shrimps. Best to rent a car or book for private transport to travel around Alisan as the interval for public bus iS at least half an hour.

We toured Alishan with a professional guide.

We toured Alishan with a professional guide. The guide was very professional, knowledgeable, and humble, always open to asking questions before providing answers. What was supposed to be a 3-hour tour took 5 hours due to rain and the fact that one of our members had mobility issues and walked slowly. The guide was very patient and caring, tirelessly providing information about Alishan's development, natural environment, and flora and fauna, and professionally answering all our questions, helping us understand Alishan's cultural environment and ecology. It was a journey of knowledge, a journey of understanding the natural environment and ecology. (Thank you to guide Chen Jingqin for leading the tour.)

The location was amazing and the married couple who ran the minsu was exceptionally kind. We had travelled to Alishan via public transport, so the couple offered to drive us from the minsu into town for dinner, and then back again. They were so welcoming, and were also able to accomodate our dietary restrictions (both vegetarian) for breakfast, which was very delicious! We were only able to stay for 1 night, but there's so much to see at Alishan, so we're definitely looking forward to coming back and staying here again!

The property was really clean, comfortable and spacious. Great place to stay to explore the hiking trails of Shizhuo and Alishan. A short 10 mins walk into Shizhuo (just take a torch so cars can easily see you in the dark as there is no footpath on the road). We'd stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at this B&B. The host was super friendly, we had a delicious Taiwanese breakfast and the view from the terrace was stunning. We received tea upon arrival and could enjoy the tea while sitting on the rooftop terrace.
