Peter and his staff were lovely and so very helpful. Peter tersely went out if his way to help me with a permit for the Chimpanzee tour. They support the local human wildlife coexistence activists who come and put on a beautiful performance. The food was DELICIOUS. I had dinner by the fire. Great service. Lovely setting and grounds.

Beautiful location by the crater lake with stunning views. The lodge has a cozy wooden atmosphere, spacious and well-decorated rooms, and excellent food. The best part of the lodge is that it is an NGO and has completely changed the local community! All the following aspects made for a wonderful week: - The location is beautiful, overlooking the lake on a beautifully maintained property. - The food was truly amazing! I lived in France for 13 years which is renowned for food and this was comparable. - The staff are very friendly and helpful. We also had the very rare opportunity to share the week with the NGO founders who were visiting from Spain to conduct ongoing business. They are beautiful, humble people who have sacrificed so much for others in needs. They immediately earned our respect. - There are many interesting activities to do around the lodge, all run by locals, in partnership with the lodge (e.g., bird watching on a boat on the lake, vanilla production tour, coffee production tour, visit to the local market, meeting the children in the school, etc.)
