Our stay in the Elephant Rock lodge is the highlight of our entire trip to South Africa. The premises are beautiful: very green, clean and intimate. There can be a max of 10 persons staying at the lodge at a time, which (we think) is the perfect quantity to have a fun but at the same time to get a personal experience. The staff were extremely nice to us, everything had a personal touch. We were greeted after every drive with drinks and warm towels, the rooms were kept clean and there was always water/ coffee available. A special mention goes to the meals (everything was delicious) and to the cooks. As for the game drives, we had a very special experience. We are grateful to our ranger, Marli, for making our first safari experience memorable. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and our every single drive ended up an amazing experience (we even saw a leopard). Overall, we are very happy to have chosen this lodge. Our stay there was a true pleasure and a moment of rest.

Our room was very comfortable, spacious, bright, and clean. There was everything we needed. The staff was very friendly. Even when we went on an early safari and didn't have time for breakfast, they prepared breakfast for us in advance and packed it with us, which we didn't expect, but it was very nice of them. We also liked the location as it is just outside the city and it was easy to get to Nambiti Game Reserve which is only a 30-minute drive to the main gate.

It was my 1st time booking to the lodge. All people we come across with were very friendly, starting from the receptionist. The breakfast was delicious. I liked the attitude of Miss Kubheka, the waitress. She is outstanding. The area is very quiet. I will frequently visit the area.

It is an excellent place to stay in. The place is beautiful, well organized, good tasting decorations, delicious breakfast and a good location near the mall. Alona the owner is a very kind person, I loved her, She made me feel at home. The room is awesome with a private bathroom and some facilities like air conditioner, TV, Fridge, hot water and so on. I recommend it so much!!! It is worth each cent!

I understand that Ladysmith is an old town ,but ,I was very disturbed when I saw shacks right in town ,there are other areas in CBD, that were dirty ,in Small towns like Ladysmith ,we are expecting orderly and clean places especially in CBD. Municipality must enforce the by laws. We like to visit small towns .

So many restaurants that have nice food,the amazing natural views around Ladysmith,malls are around you dnt have to travel long distance if you need something,there's a museum that has lot of information about Ladysmith.

The town is very easily layed out and full of history.

The town is very easily layed out and full of history. Guided and unguided tours are available to visit the war that took place in the area. The richness in history and facts are felt throughout town. Not many restaurants available. Ensure that you do visit the area and plan enough time to visit at least two war sites.

I loved the view from our room, the sunset was amazing and at night the town's lights was magical. our room was very quit and felt like we were in nature, saw a hawk flying by while laying in the bath over looking trees. Breakfast was exceptional, lots of choice and delicious. Can not wait to visit Ladysmith again
