Having gained independence in 1991 following the breakup of the Soviet Union, Uzbekistan is a young country. But the roots of this vast land are ancient.
For centuries, this area of land was a major crossroads along the Silk Road – an age-old trading route that stretched all the way from China to the Mediterranean. Samarkand, one of three major cities dotted along the road, contains so many architectural feats from this period that it has been classed entirely as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See for yourself at the Registan, a wide plaza bordered by three mosaic-covered madrassas (religious schools) with bright turquoise domes. To the west, Bukhara offers similarly impressive landmarks, including the ruins of a 5th-century royal compound known as the Ark, while the walled city of Khiva further north is the most remote but best-preserved of the Silk Road cities. Here you’ll find stunning mosques, mausoleums and palaces towering over a labyrinth of streets. But there’s more to Uzbekistan than ancient history. Tashkent, the urban capital in the eastern region, is refreshingly cosmopolitan, while in the far north you can visit the Aral Sea – formerly one of the world’s largest lakes now on the verge of disappearing completely.
Hotels and guesthouses are aplenty in the capital, as well as in the Silk Road cities. Accommodation is quite limited elsewhere.

I really liked the hotel, especially the cat (blue kitten🐈) makes you stay comfortable and breakfast was absolutely delectable and appetizing. The hotel is located in an excellent location. We wanted to book a double bedroom, but at the time of the booking it was not available, so we went for a family room. The bedroom was exceptional: beautiful, curated in every detail, modern, new. The hotel itself is amazing, I think it has been recently opened o renovated in a old building. I had the feeling of being in a beautiful museum. The staff was super kind and polite and prepared for us a box with some food since we were leaving very early in the morning. We didn’t ask for this and it was a pleasant surprise. It’s the best hotel were I stated during my trip in Uzbekistan.

Generous breakfasts, beautiful interior with rugs made by the grandma, and the best personal family-like care I’ve ever received! I got sick one of the nights we stayed there and the very kind son looked after me and checked with my partner to ask if I needed any medicine or food or if he could help in any way. We had a long train ride to Bukhara the next day, and without asking, he made me potato pancakes so I’d have something to eat on the train if I felt better. It was incredible to be so well taken care of in a foreign place! The location was also incredibly close to everything, the beds were comfortable, the shower was delightful. Highly recommend!

Everything was exceptional!
The decorations and ambience in the hotel and rooms are really nice, with everything needed. The breakfast was awesome and the staff was really helpful with everything - they arranged a pick up from the airport early in the morning, a transfer to the train station when we had to leave, and gave recommendations about some sights to see that we hadn't considered before. Last, but not least, the location is perfect - in a quiet street, right in the heart of the city.
