I had a truly wonderful time at this family-owned guesthouse in central Fort Kochi. Before my arrival the owner Joseph stayed in touch and arranged a taxi to fetch me at the airport. I was met by a lovely kind driver, who took me safely to the Fort Bungalow. On my arrival I was greeted with a cup of tea and a chat in a beautiful seating area downstairs, with a fan for comfort. I was shown to my room, where I had everything you could need including a strong air-con, a roof fan, fresh towels daily and drinking water. My bed was very comfortable and everything was clean and beautifully decorated. While I was there Needhu, Joseph's wife, arranged for my clothes to be washed, dried and ironed, for a very reasonable cost. Joseph was available via phone or in person every day to give shopping, eating, and sight-seeing recommendations. A special mention to Hussain, a tuk-tuk/auto driver who works with Joseph and who showed me around for days, with a wonderfully friendly, personalised service. Joseph also arranged for me to spontaneously visit another hotel they run, the Marari Beach Bungalow, which is about 1.5 hours away and definitely worth a visit! The hotel was beautiful and the backwaters tour Joseph planned was spectacular. All in all, I highly recommend the Fort Bungalow - it's a friendly, generous, calming place that is right in the centre of Fort Kochi and very easily accessible! Thank you to Joseph and his family for making my stay so happy and comfortable.

The Tamara Coorg is a 5-star property about 8 km from Nalkanad Palace and Thadiandamol. I have had the pleasure to stay in this facility for 3 days. I booked it because it was close to my place of interest, because it had good reviews and because the pictures looked pretty. Little did I know how much I underestimated this resort! The combination of tranquility, breathtaking views from your "room", the omnipresent luxury, selection of superb activities, the cuisine, the actual living forest all around you and overall hospitality and service simply cannot be described by words. One must experience it first-hand to fully appreciate this gem of a property. This property is situated literally inside a functioning coffee plantation, where you can explore the coffee making process from blossom to brewing (and roast / grind coffee beans yourself!). That is only one of the few exceptional activities offered, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The plantation is huge, and so is the resort itself. So of course they drive you with a buggy, whenever you are not in a mood for a little walk. Your "room" is actually a cottage, suspended above tree foliage, with a sense of complete privacy, even though a next cottage is nearby. The view has depth which can only be experienced by the seashore, or at high altitude. The connection to nature is taken very seriously here, and can also be felt intensely everywhere - whether you are relaxing on the terrace of your cottage, or walking to the pool and spa, or just having dinner. Talking about dining. The selection and variety of meals is astonishing, and so is the flavor. The whole dining experience is wonderful - the taste, the drinks & cocktails, the fact that you are actually dining above the waterfall, prompt and kind service offered by every staff member (waiters and managers alike). I would especially like to spotlight Mr.Bishu, who was serving us for the duration of our stay. He was always professional, very kind, attentive to all our needs, and so polite. Perched 4000 feet above sea level on a peaceful hillside is Taj Madikeri Resort & Spa Coorg. Stunning location, attentative and very friendly staff, great activities, nice food.

Tissa's Inn se nachází v koloniálním městě Fort Cochin, 1 km od pláže Fort Cochin a čínských rybářských sítí. Nabízí venkovní bazén a masáže. Na místě je neplacené parkoviště. The location along a main street not far from the main toursty area of Fort Kochi was perfect. The building itself and the decoration of the house was beautiful. The room was quiet even though the property is next to the main street. It was an easy and nice walk (less than 10 mins) through interesting streets to the main tourst area. The shops nearbly just outside the Inn were very convenient and I got my local sim card from a shop oppoposite. Room was comfortable and clean without much view (but it is alright). Breakfast was good. Dinner at the hotel was great too and reasonably priced. Service was professional yet warm.

Food was superb- we ate every evening as well as a generous breakfast. It was the perfect balance of inclusion with a family and a sense of privacy.
