The hotel was peaceful and quiet, the breakfast was a great selection and the location of the hotel is prime since it's just adjacent to the Duomo.

Hotel Il Palazzo is set in the left wing of Palazzo Bartocci Fontana, a 16th-Century building halfway between Assisi's Basilica of Saint Francis and Piazza del Comune square. We were already in this hotel with my husband 4 years ago, so there was no question that we would come back to the same place. Everyone at the reception was as nice as possible, on the first day they gave us directions to the restaurants in the area, which we tried and had very enjoyable lunches and dinners in the restaurants. The hotel rooms are impeccable, very clean and tidy. We loved the breakfast, as well as the service was perfect. We have never met such a kind and pleasant welcome.

We would like to thank the staff at the reception for the big effort to assist us with something we left behind they really went the extra mile. We will definitely come back to Palazzo Piccolomini.

This was an exceptional stay; the hotel is an easy walk from the parking available to tourists, and you are immediately transported by the charm and beauty of Assisi. The room was beautiful, blending an ancient construction (very deep window wells and stone walls in the breakfast room) with all the modern conveniences. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in during our two weeks in Italy. The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of main dishes that were prepared on the spot and sweet baked goods, espresso and juices. The homemade crostata was incredible.
