Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We went as a group and we loved the ryokan. It was very spacious, everything was very clean, and it was conveniently located near the bus station, the train station, and the city center where most of the shopping takes place. The rooms were the most spacious we stayed in throughout Japan, and the staff were all very kind. I would definitely stay here again.

Peaceful atmosphere , beautiful lounge and bedrooms, delicious breakfasts and of course the highlight was the onsen! Staff and service were also excellent and made our stay super special!

Located just a 1-minute walk from popular Miyagawa Morning Market in the heart of Takayama, Sumiyoshi Ryokan offers homely Japanese-style accommodation in the historic townhouse building. Hosts are incredibly kind and gave us a warm welcome. The ryokan is very traditional. The japanese breakfast was amazing and we regret not to have booked the diner (it has to be 3 days in advance and when we saw how the breakfast was made we understood why, so make sure to book it). Location is very close to shops and restaurants. If you have a car, the host will guide you to parking spaces in the adjacent street. The ryokan has 2 onsen like baths shared among customers. Note: there are no private shower or toilet in the rooms.

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. Location is perfect, just 5 mins away from the old street. The property is beautifully decorated and rooms are very comfortable. Service is impeccable and you will feel so welcomed with every single staff you encountered. We booked 2 rooms and they catered all our requests so well. Will definitely stay here again next time.

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... Staff are very kind, the service is great and we loved the authentic atmosphere.

Chaya Hotel se nachází pouhých 40 metrů od zrekonstruovaného poštovního města Magome-Juku z doby Edo a nabízí jednoduché tradiční pokoje s futonovou postelí a podlahou tatami. Perfect location, epic dinner and breakfast, well-maintained traditional house. Very good night stop for Nakasendo.

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Skvělá lokalita, dobré připojení WiFi. Krásný zážitek z tradičního typu ubytování.

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal, this hotel boasts a natural hot spring bath where guests can unwind. Free Wi-Fi is available in all areas. Great location. Very clean room, with bunk bed.. Good breakfast as well.

Boasting open-air hot spring baths looking over the city and heartfelt hospitality, Honjin Hiranoya Annex is ideally located just steps away from popular Takayama Jinya building and its morning... Excelent ryokan experience. The kaiseki (dinner) and the japanese breakfast were very traditional and plentiful. The staff is super gentle and helpful.
