Facing the central shopping street of the Kinosaki Onsen hot spring area, Morizuya offers authentic Japanese-style accommodation, hot spring baths and Japanese dining. The hospitality of the owner is second to none ,his name eludes me but he was so nice, one of the nicest hosts I've met in Japan. As soon as I entered I got such a huge welcome and help with my bags. The private onsen and breakfast are great. The hotel is in a great location, and there was great additional services like luggage storage and lughage delivery to station.

Founded in the 12th century and beloved by Junichiro Tanizaki and other Japanese novelists, Tosen Goshobo is the oldest of the hot-spring inns at Arima. So clean and such a modern yet cultural experience of the oldest onsen in town. Onsen and showers were clean. Rooms were spacious for the “tenraku” room and onsen was so close to the middle of all the shops.

Situated just a 3-minute walk from JR Motomachi Staion, Kobe Motomachi Tokyu REI Hotel provides simple rooms with natural colours. This ideally located hotel had, like most Japanese hotels, many free extras. A library of LP's as well as a turntable to play music in the lobby, a drink machine with beer, and a small restaurant for breakfast. Within walking distance of the train station, around the corner from Chinatown and 15 min walk from the waterfront. The staff was so helpful, suggesting places to see and how to get there.

Villa Fontaine Kobe Sannomiya offers modern rooms with free wired internet access. Free Wi-Fi is available at the 5th floor lobby. The staff were really helpful and nice. Gave a lot of recommendations in Kobe. The hotel is well maintained and clean.

Hotel Okura Kobe is located on the waterfront, 500 metres from the Motomachi shopping area. Featuring Western-style rooms with free WiFi access, the hotel offers 6 dining options. The front desk staff were extremely accommodating in helping to relocate us to a lower location. Our room had a spectacular view of Meriken Park/the Sea front and was bright and airy. The Okura is a fantastic location for exploring Kobe within walking distance of Motomachi/Chinatown and a short shuttle stop from Sannomiya.

The hotel is in a superb location, just 10 minute walk from the Himeji JR station, and 10-15 minute walk to Himeji castle. It was very clean, with a nice toilet and a comfortable bed. I recommend this place for travelers doing a trip around Japan, when they are looking for a nice and well located spot for exploring Himeji.

A 10-minute walk from JR Sannomiya Train Station, Kobe Sannomiya Union Hotel features a Japanese restaurant and a massage service. Rooms feature free Wifi and a flat-screen satellite TV. I couldn't complain. Everything was nice.
