The location was excellent, only a few minutes from the Central Bus & Train stations in Palermo. It was in a perfect location for exploring the city. The rooms are all on the 5th floor of a building which seem to be shared with other apartments/offices and can only be accessed by ringing the bell and being 'buzzed in', but we never had to wait very long for this to happen. Our room was large, with very high ceilings. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Traffic noise could be loud at times, but only if the windows were open. As others have said, the area could be described as 'run down', but I never felt anxious about walking to or from the accommodation at any time of the day or night. The staff were very friendly and the continental breakfast was brought to our room every morning, even a bit earlier on the day we were leaving earlier to go on a day trip. The room we were assigned was listed as having a 'shared bathroom and shower room', however don't let this put you off booking as I suspect we were the only people who used these facilities, which were kept spotlessly clean at all times. There was a sink in the room, which meant we could wash/brush teeth/etc without having to use the 'shared facilities'. I would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation, or in staying here again. It is perfect for those looking for inexpensive accommodation while exploring Palermo.

The hotel was truly amazing, a unique blend of old and contemporary styles with many beautiful details. The staff was fantastic, but I must give a special mention to Eric. He was incredibly kind and always ready to help. When my friend had an injury, he immediately went to get ice for her. We were a group of eight, and Eric quickly became our favorite person.

Palazzo Cartari is a wonderful place. It was a joy to stay there. Perhaps most notably, the staff is friendly, welcoming, helpful, and a pleasure to interact with. They all speak excellent English. The location is perfect for visiting the historic center of Palermo. My room was stylish, comfortable, quiet, and beautifully equipped. The breakfast was varied and excellent. There are lots of restaurants close by, and the hotel is within easy walking distance to the Ballarò Market for a wonderful lunch of Palermo's famous street foods. If you want to be close to the historic center when visiting Palermo and its innumerable interests. I can't imagine a better place.

The location of the apartment was amazing and the room itself was perfect as well. Very clean and spacious. We also had all of the amenities we could have asked for + a minifridge and an espresso machine both of which were an excellent addition. The hosts were also amazing- always very helpful and the communication could not have been quicker and more efficient.
