I highly recommend this ryokan. It has a great location with easy bus access from the main station, and many attractions are within walking distance. The place is very clean and comfortable, and the staff go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Sleeping on futons in a tatami mat room with a garden view was a wonderful experience. High-quality toiletries are also provided, which was a nice bonus.

Nice staff, spacious room and comfortable beds. Laundry machine is included.
The location is very convenient and close to a subway station that can take you as far as Osaka and Nara. Plenty of buses are also close by. Additionally, one traverses the bridge and is in the middle of the shopping area with plenty of good restaurants to boot.
The hotel was perfect for 4 days in Kyoto with lots of exploring during the day.

The rooms were exceptional (my photos don't do them justice!). If you are deciding on whether to upgrade your room, this is the place where it is genuinely worth it. Beds very comfortable and a nice touch with snacks and drinks in the room. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was exceptional. We didn't try kaiseki evening meal here but regretted it based on the quality and balance of the breakfast. The grounds and garden are beautiful with koi carp pond. There is also a lovely bar in the garden. The hotel is a serene and relaxing space.

I can’t remember the name of the man who owns Roku Roku but he was amazing. Made sure we had everything we needed & waited up late for our late arrival. The room was spacious and clean.

Really cozy hotel with a traditional-style room. Everything was spotless and nicely prepared, and we were given robes on arrival, which was a lovely touch. The food was excellent, and the onsen was fantastic – with plenty of toiletries and extra products available for women. The host was also very kind and welcoming.
We travelled by bus from Tokyo and arrived quite late, but that didn’t spoil the experience at all. I’d definitely recommend staying here at least once.

We had an amazing time at Yumoto Onsen. It was our first time staying at a Ryokan and we were a bit nervous about following the correct procedures and being respect. However we need not have worried as the staff explained everything to us. The baths were very relaxing with glimpses of the neighbouring forest. The dinner and breakfast was delicious, and the tables overlook the beautiful garden which is home to the very cute Shibu Inu, Taro!
