JJ's is one of the best hostels I have stayed at. It has the perfect balance between social vibes and comfort. J has created a great space for interaction at the same time as emphasizing on comfort for backpackers who need a space to ground for a bit and have all the facilities of a home away from home. You know the details you always think about having if you ever started your own hostel? To me so many of them were there. The curtains for the bed, the tiny shelf by the bed, reading lamp, racks in the room to hang up clothes and wet towels. And cats. I love the cats.

Oh my god! The place is a perfect jungle getaway from the touristy hustle of Mirissa. The bungalows in the middle of the rainforest setting make it hard to believe you're only a short distance from the busiest tourist spots in the area. Hotel has a free tuk-tuk service to the main road (only one way, need to get back on your own). Any tour bookings or extra requests are handled quickly and efficiently.

The villa is on a walking distance from the main centre of Mirissa and it’s only 8 minutes drive with tuk tuk to Weligama beach. The room was very clean and spacious; bed very comfortable. The pool is clean and very well kept. The owners are very welcoming and always available. The breakfast was superb.

I think that the number one value of Rise is the staff and service. Everyone in the hotel, starting with the owners and all the employees are very friendly, and caring, and make an extra effort to make the guests as comfortable as possible. We stayed at Rise for 3 weeks, and it was a perfect place for a long stay with some work we need to do online. It's close to the best surfing point t Weligama, they serve an excellent island-vibe breakfast each morning, and the rooms are really beautiful, spacious, and clean. I think that it's a great value for money, way beyond our expectations.

The most incredible little boutique property with a gorgeous pool overlooking the jungle. You could honestly just spend a day enjoying the property. Highly recommend their in-house massage, it’s really something else. Great breakfast, curated according to eating preferences (I’m vegetarian). Delicious fresh juices and coffee. Felt very safe as a solo female traveler and the property owners are always around for recommendations and any help required.
