Really beautiful hotel, very stylishly designed. Loved the tall ceilings. Everything worked well and was good quality. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Location is perfect and they try to save you some street parking that they have under video surveillance, which is a nice touch!

We had a great one-week stay at Casa Akbal. The property, including the pool, is kept immaculately clean, the breakfasts are delicious, and the owners are welcoming and helpful. After a day’s sightseeing, we especially enjoyed the cool and quiet garden area. The location is perfect—away from the hectic tourist spots, but within an easy walk or short bus ride to everything Centro Histórico has to offer. Having to ring to be let in was not a problem—it was actually nice to be greeted when we came “home”. And it meant we knew that our belongings were always secure.

Gorgeous hacienda type hotel right in the centre of Merida. Such a lovely welcome from the owners - very helpful with local information, restaurant recommendations things to do etc. Such a pleasant courtyard/pool area to relax in (also a second! pool for lounging by). Nice bar in the hotel and generally a pleasing place to wander around. The room was nice- four poster bed was big and comfortable. The air con seemed a bit underperforming though but there was also a ceiling fan so we were comfortable. Parking (free) is just around the corner, the very helpful owner will go with you to find it which was great.

One of the best boutique hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely looked after. The team (Leo and Agustin m) here goes above and beyond in a way that feels effortless and sincere. They gave me amazing local recommendations, checked in on me throughout my stay, and somehow always knew what I needed before I even asked.
The atmosphere is beautiful, calm and intimate — exactly what a boutique hotel should feel like. But what truly makes this place special is the hosts. Their attention to detail and the way they care for guests is on another level.
I left feeling not just rested, but truly taken care of. I would come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.
