The Inn is very well-located in the center of Santa Barbara. It is just across the street from the long, wide beach.
My room had a lovely view over the water and was exceptionally spacious and nicely-furnished, though at a higher cost.

The Waterman is well situated for the waterside and downtown. It's easy to walk to the beach, the wharf, the Presidio, and the Los Banos pool (a lovely outdoor pool).
The hotel room was fine but no more than fine. It did have lots of hooks to hang coats from though...
Breakfast facilities were minimal, but there was plenty of availability of free coffee and tea. We didn't see any guests using the cooker hob - slightly weird in a hotel, but if you fancied scrambling some eggs then the equipment was there.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
OK for a one night stay.
