Wonderful place that I can always recommend for a stay in Santa Barbara. Although the hostel is located across the street to Tran station, this actually did not disturb (the signals of the trains entering the station). Definitely a plus are wonderful pancakes. I would definitely stay there as well next time when I visit cozy Santa Barbara, a town at the Pacific coast.

It was very central, the room was clean and had all we needed. Stuff working there where so friendly and welcoming. They took some time for conversation and was very personal.
In the afternoon they invited for a free snack and drink.
If ever in Santa Barbara again we will come back.

The Waterman is well situated for the waterside and downtown. It's easy to walk to the beach, the wharf, the Presidio, and the Los Banos pool (a lovely outdoor pool).
The hotel room was fine but no more than fine. It did have lots of hooks to hang coats from though...
Breakfast facilities were minimal, but there was plenty of availability of free coffee and tea. We didn't see any guests using the cooker hob - slightly weird in a hotel, but if you fancied scrambling some eggs then the equipment was there.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
OK for a one night stay.

The property is absolutely gorgeous. It is modern and clean and the host has thought of everything. So many lovely thoughtful little touches that you will have to explore for yourself lol 😂 The location is in a quiet street with free parking on site. It is only a short walk the the Main Street State St, lined with restaurants and shopping. You can also walk or hire a bike to visit the pier and water. We arrived on a Tuesday and there was a fabulous organic market lining the Main Street. Awesome chilled vibe.
