The staff were so kind and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast is very good but there are also many other places close by as well as the market most mornings. We loved it and would return any time.

Steinenschanze Charming City & Garden Hotel is less than 5 minutes' walk from Basel's city centre and the university, close to historical buildings and the old town. Great hotel with very professional and friendly staff. Excellent location, only 5-10 minute walk from most main attractions. We were visiting around Christmas and the hotel's garden was part of the "Magical Courtyards" and beautifully decorated. There was also free filtered drinking water on every floor and free coffee at all times.

What a wonderful surprise to have discovered B&B Stirnimann for our two night stay while touring Switzerland. The area is peaceful and lovely and the stay was everything we could ever want and more. Our hosts offered us a warm welcome and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The accommodations were not just clean but absolutely spotless and our room was cozy, spacious and very comfortable. We were allowed to use the full kitchen and living room and porch in addition to our room and that was such a treat for us on our long trip. The best part you ask? The best part was Hedi our host who we instantly adored. She is a gracious, funny, kind and friendly force of nature who made sure we were comfortable, offered touring and local information and provided us with a full delicious breakfast. There are some people and places that enhance a trip in special ways that you know you will never forget. Staying at B&B Stirnimann and meeting Hedi will hold a special place in our memory and we hope to return someday.
