The sweetest couple running a jam and drink shop, which you’ll stay next door to. Close to a Lawson (3 min walk). The folks running the place clearly care about their guests and are very caring and kind. They provide tons of information about Hakata Island, and have curated a restaurant and map of where you can go for food since there isn’t too much on the island. We felt so cared for and looked after when we arrived after cycling for 4 hours in the pouring rain. Thank you so much for your kindness and we would happily return just to say hi and have more jams!

Starosvětské ubytování v tradičním ryokanu, kde vaří velmi sympatická babička, která hovoří anglicky. Velmi příjemně se nám zde trávil čas. Večeře i snídaně byla moc chutná- v tradičním stylu.

そらやまゲストハウス Sorayama guesthouse se nachází v destinaci Ino a nabízí ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm, sdíleným loungem a terasou. Odo Dam Museum je 28 km daleko. It’s a wonderful guesthouse with a beautiful river right next to it. The owners are lovely and my room was comfy and clean. The breakfast was delicious, and they can change it to vegetarian for you. It looks like they’re trying to use natural products wherever they can! I really enjoyed staying here :)

The inn was so beautiful and many wonderful qualities. It's location is in the middle of a lively street full of shops and restaurants and a close (though uphill) walk to a temple. The in-room amenities were wonderful: whole coffee beans, a grinder, a coffee pot and cups, a separate teapot and teacups, pajamas, robes, and any necessary toiletries. The provided breakfast and dinner was delicious, traditional Japanese fare with English menus to explain the nightly courses (though I'd still suggest having a translator app). Last, but certainly not least: the baths were incredible. I appreciate that the private baths did not need a reservation and were all themed differently. So relaxing!! All my worries melted away here.

Guesthouse boro-ya se nachází v destinaci Otoyocho a poskytuje ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm a terasou. Kóči vlakové nádraží je 50 km daleko. Everything was amazing. Location is INSANE, in a very rural village overlooking the valley. The owner, Yancy, was super friendly with us and told us his interesting story. He provided everything we need, such as cooking tools and also games and entertainment. We appreciated to have the whole house available for us, for cooking and chilling. The outdoor bathroom is a real experience. I absolutely recommend to try this accommodation.

Guest House Mitsuka se nachází v destinaci Shishikui a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi, neplacené soukromé parkoviště a výhled na hory. Muzeum Mollusco Mugi se nachází 22 km odtud. Beautiful property and amazing hospitality! My host Yukiko went above and beyond to ensure I arrived at house. I was stuck on my cycling trip about 30km out from her house in the middle of an unexpected thunderstorm and she drove all the way to pick me up. I am forever grateful!!! Delicious dinner was then served and I enjoyed every single course!

Yamatoya Besso se nachází na výhodném místě ve čtvrti Dogo Onsen v destinaci Macujama. Joshin-ji Temple se nachází 600 metrů daleko, Matsuyama Shrine 900 metrů a Miyukiji Temple 1,5 km. Yamatoya Besso was one time life experience. The Onsen and the Dinner was authentic, classic Japan style prepared and served with great care and passion.

Located in Kasuga, 26 km from Takamatsu, Asan Kotonami features a terrace and views of the mountain. The ryokan has a hot spring bath and sauna, and guests can enjoy a meal at the restaurant. The onsen was spectacular with its situation almost in the woods and overlooking a stream and waterfall. The restaurant was the best I have experienced in Japan with beautifully prepared and delicious food presented immaculately by the very friendly staff. The rooms were spacious well appointed and spotless. We opted for a room with a private onsen which was a wonderful place to relax after dinner

Katsuo Guest House se nachází v destinaci Koči a nabízí ubytování s zahradou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm, sdíleným loungem a terasou. Daizen-ji Temple je 38 km daleko. Everyone was so nice and I felt like at home right away. It was very clean and comfortable. The common space is also great for hanging out and I had a fun night with the staff and other guests. Unfortunately I only stayed for one night, but I'll definitely come again and stay much longer!

Hotel Kazurabashi nabízí pokoje v japonském stylu, jídelnu, kde se jídlo připravuje v krbu u stolu pro hosty, a střešní termální koupel s krásným výhledem do přírody. Beautiful hotel hidden between the mountains in the valley. The japanese rooms were big and comfortable, loved having access to very fresh water all the time. The staff were really attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. The hotel also offers a free night tour to the vine bridge, which I highly recommend. The outdoor onsen is breathtaking, you reach it by using a cable car(or climbing it yourself). Very well maintained and beautiful setup, and you can literally sit for hours looking at its beautiful real nature background. Outside of the onsen, there is a very old rest area with tea and water, and a sunken hearth (irori). The smell of its burning wood creates a very pleasant aroma. Highly recommend sitting on the tatami in the room while the sun shines through the windows so you experience shades of red you have never seen before. Dinner and breakfast use local ingredients, and everything you try is explained in great detail. Also, you get to hear the beautiful singing voice of the owner of the hotel while she sings you a traditional japanese song during the dinner time. Because the hotel is located in a remote valley and unless you have a car, it will be hard to get around. The buses pass scarcely and they are small and can be crowded. If you try to walk, you will always be walking on the road. You can rent assisted bicycles in the hotel, which makes it easier to get around. Oh, and you will probably see wild monkeys crossing the roads if you venture around.
