Breakfast was tasty and they were preparing it earlier than usual as we had early morning tours. We felt very connected with the nature and spent amazing days.

Before even arriving, we appreciated Chip & Yessica’s prompt responses to our questions & their efficiency in arranging details like airport pick-up. The hostel is in a great location. It has amazing views over the river. Conveniently located behind a fruit & vegetable market, it is also only a block or so from the scenic Malecon & the main historic plaza. The hostel is magical. The high-ceilinged rooms are completely covered with vividly coloured murals. It reeks of charm. We took a room with a private bathroom. It was huge & the one wall was solid window looking out onto the river. The room is well-appointed with a bar fridge, reading lamps, etc. linens & great wifi provided. The common room (where an excellent breakfast can be served) also has these amazing windows & views. Chip speaks English & he & Yessica have been in Iquitos a long while so can answer all questions.

PuraChata Ecolodge se nachází v destinaci Iquitos a má restauraci, pokojovou službu, bar, zahradu, celoročně otevřený venkovní bazén, terasu a výhled na jezero. A jungle paradise just outside of busy Iquitos. The eco-lodge is on a beautiful property full of birds, plants, nature sounds, etc. and the pool is such a nice way to relax and cool off. It's very easy to get to via shared car aka colectivo. Some Spanish would definitely help, but with a sense of aventure and Google translate, you'd be fine!

CAMUNGO jungle Lodge in indigenous community ALL INCLUSIVE se nachází v destinaci Puerto Franco a má restauraci, dětský klub, bar, zahradu, terasu a výhled na hory. That was an amazing experiance staying at indigenous community. Clean and cozy villas, nice people were hosting us. They know so much about local nature and can share with you a lot.

Piri's House se nachází v destinaci Iquitos. Ubytování má bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. The host Lidsky give us a warm welcome drink. The house equips with a very clean kitchen, pots, stove, kettle, plates, fridge...etc, so it's easy to make a simple breakfast by ourselves. The airconditions are working well, so it helps us with a humid/warm night in Iquitos. There's no hot water for the shower, but I don't want it, either. It's not far from Mercado Belén.

Eywa Lodge Amazonas - All inclusive se nachází v destinaci Yucuruche a nabízí bar. We spent 4 nights and 5 days at Eywa lodge and we had a fantastic time. From the moment Freddy met us at our Iquitos hotel until we said our heartfelt goodbyes at the lodge and in Iquitos we were treated with respect and as friends. We were never patronized. The entire team became our friends as well as guides and supporters. Our stay at the lodge, in the forest, on the river was dreamlike. My expectations of giant anacondas, growling jaguars, and man-eating spiders were soon forgotten, replaced with endless green forest, magnificent wild rivers, countless birds, and jewel-like starry night sky’s. Particulars: prepare for rain(panchos). Expect mosquitos, they weren’t bad for us.  We used deet and piccardin and both were effective unless you are known to attract mosquitos, if so, douse outer wear with permethrin. Light weight long sleeve shirts and pants. Good walking shoes, hat, headlamp, and walking stick. Meals were delicious, varied and used local produce and were presented with style. Wifi at lodge was quite good. And the lounge/bar serve a mean pisco sour.

Guacamayo Azul se nachází v destinaci Iquitos a poskytuje venkovní bazén, zahradu, sdílený lounge, terasu a výhled do zahrady. I’ve stayed one week in the wonderful Guacamayo Azul integrating my journeys in the jungle, and seriously, I have no words how amazing this place is! The house is luxurious, huge comfortable main bedroom, fully equipped kitchen where I felt I could cook as if I was back home. The pool is another sort of privilege; calm and safe location, comparing to the rest of Iquitos. Julio, the housekeeper, would help me with absolutely everything I needed - driving me to do buy groceries, help around the house, even accompanying me to explore the local area’s gems so I don’t feel uncomfortable as a solo female traveler. A special thanks to him! The house is massive and would fit a company up to 8 people, but also it’s an incredible stay for a solo person, who seeks quietness and solitude, like in my case. I truly appreciate my time in Guacamayo Azul, and it only leaves me to wonder why it’s not yet fully booked. I wish you that!

Grand Amazon Lodge and Tours - All Inclusive se nachází v destinaci Paraíso a poskytuje zahradu, sdílený lounge, bar a bezplatné Wi-Fi. This is an outpost in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, so of course we did not expect anything too fancy. Having said that, the lodge is an adorable place, simply made with mostly local materials, but beautifully designed. It takes a lot of work to keep everything clean and in working condition there, and all the necessary work was made in discreet ways, so that they would not bother the guests. What they have achieved is remarkable. The lodge employs many people from the local villages, thus enrolling the villages in conservation policies. There is one guide and one tracker for each group, and they take you around, on jungle walks and boat rides. Everything is as fascinating as you can imagine. We were very lucky and saw a lot of wildlife, including blue macaws, ant eater, sloths, monkeys, and so many colourful birds and butterflies. Food is delicious and the breakfast is very good. A special word for all the crew: guides, trackers, cooks and maintenance: all of them were really kind and knowledgeable. They go the estra mile to make the guests feel good. The lodge is powered with solar panels, batteries and a generator to complement the solar. Power is enough and never had an outage. Internet is available on the lobby/main hall, and works well most of the time. More than enough considering that you are in the middle of the jungle. This was a blast we will never forget. Higly recommendable if you love this sort of thing.
