Set on the beachfront in Porticcio, Hotel Le Maquis offers 5-star accommodation in a former Corsican family home with a gastronomic restaurant, outdoor swimming pool, indoor heated pool and a bar. The Maquis is a real old world experience. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a private balcony and a lovely view across the bay to Ajaccio. Fabulous outdoor and indoor pools and lovely gardens. Staff and welcoming and very helpful. The fine dining experience was excellent. Plenty of free parking. Only hotel with a private beach - unfortunately it was raining so didnt have a chance to visit.

Stunningly situated facing Ajaccio Bay and the Sanguinaires Islands in Corsica, the Sofitel Golfe d'Ajaccio Thalassa Sea & Spa features a heated outdoor seawater pool. I did not realise that the property was outside of Ajaccio until I arrived. The location provided a beautiful view of Ajaccio actions the bay. The property was well kept and inviting. The spa was so relaxing.
