The attention to details, the quality of everything from materials in the room to everything at breakfast. A lovely bed with very comfortable sheets and duvets, a nice layout of the room and bathroom. Really fluffy slippers. The staff were very attentive which you would expect at this level hotels. It was the small things: they provide e-bikes for free, but you also can have a lock, helmets in different sizes, a GPS and a bag to go cycling around the vineyards. We enjoyed a dinner at Tierra y Vino, their Michelin recommended restaurant. We chose the 5-course dinner, and can recommend it.

The state-owned Paradores chain is one of the jewels of Spanish hospitality. These places are oases of calm class, and Argomaniz was no exception. The setting is just lovely, looking out over the agriculture of the plain below. Everything about this place is just "right" - peaceful rooms, great water pressure in the shower, lovely staff and delicious dinner and breakfast, all in a delightful historic palace. Not showy or super-deluxe, just "right"! Basically unfaultable.
