The staff is superfriendly and very concerned to meet all their guests needs, always providing fresh water and petrol lights for the night. The boat trip and the night walk they offer for free were very informative snd interesting. The food was amazing and served in s gorgeous atmosphere under the palm trees, surrounded by fires an torches. The 12 hour safari they arranged for us was perfectly organized, with breakfast and lunch they prepared for us. Thanks to all the staff for this wonderful experience while staying with you.

It’s difficult to pinpoint one thing that stood out as everything was exceptional. The food, the hospitality, the room, the environment, you will not regret staying here! Hope to be back one day. If you’ve read about the leaches, don’t bother worrying, they’re tiny and a non-event.

Everything! Kottawatta surprised us at every turn; from the cold facial towels upon entry to the poolside drinks to an amazing curry for dinner. As a plus, the room was extremely comfortable. Our safari organized through the hotel was exceptional!

Offering river views, this fan-cooled tent has a private entrance, seating area and extra large bed with spring mattress. It includes a hot water shower, towel and shoe racks. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. I even left my headphones in the room and the staff found them and organised a taxi to come and drop them off for me. Classy stuff. The room and location were lovely, super clean and we loved the pool. Breakfast and dinner were decent and everything was done with a smile. Highly recommend and the price is great!

Athgira River Camp se nachází u národního parku Udawalawe s výhledem na řeku Rakwana. K vodní nádrži Udawalawe a záchranné stanici pro slony je to jen kousek. The property is gorgeous and very natural. There are no eye-sores, everything is very blended with nature. The two swimming pools were really lovely and the restaurant buffet dinners were delicious. The best part was the general manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. He engaged with our kids and made sure they stayed busy with basketball, volleyball, arranged a village walk across the river, and made special arrangements on our safari to celebrate my son's birthday. He was like a traditional hotel general manager who treats everybody like his personal guest. It's a really special place and definitely a great base for visiting both Udawalawe and Yala parks.

This ecolodge was enjoyable for my children, husband and myself. The tents were roomy and had flushing toilets and warm showers. The dinners were elegant on white tablecloth under the stars. The safari guide and driver did an excellent job pointing out elephant herds, birds and crocodiles at this park. I recommend this lodge.
