Makulu Safari Camping is a great choice to stay. Near the Udawalawe Park and in a gorgeous location next to a little river. The staff here are outstanding. Samitha looked after me with such care and grace, always making sure I was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. He took me on a lovely boat ride on the little river and pointed out birds and trees. Also a fabulous night walk. He has an incredible knowledge of Ayurvedic medicine and it is fascinating. He knows what plants and trees cure various ailments. One of the most lovely things at this place is the abundance of fireflies. You can see them in the dark so it's worth turning off your lights, sitting back and taking in the breathtaking beauty of these creatures as they dance around. I opted to do the 12 hour Safari which I think was the best choice. The first couple of hours is very busy with a lot of jeeps so having that extra time to see the elephants without other Jeeps around was really special. The driver Patou was fabulous and spotted so many birds and animals before I had even real realized they were there. This was all arranged in advance by Makulu.

It is an experience where you stay in tents, but you have everything you need, even the hairdryer. The view on the Jungle is amazing se even saw bih group od monkeys jumping on the roof tent and that was amazing experience. The nature around is so beautiful, beyond Words. When we came we were greeted with wet towels and amazing juice. The breakfast is buffet and is amazing. The restaurant on site has amazing food. Everybody is so friendly. The place is good starting point for Udawalawe national park and they organise everything for the safari, which was amazing. We saw elephants, crocodiles, buffallos and few beautiful birds including peacocks. In the evening we were relaxing in the pool and saw hundreds of bats flying in dusk. What an amazing sight. I highly recommend this property.

The tent features air conditioning, an electric kettle, a terrace with river views as well as a private bathroom boasting a shower. The unit has 2 beds. Best safari tour guide! Very easy going and friendly. Very passionate about all the animals and nature :) The accommodation was very cool, close to town so great for a little exploration. The food was very good and the rooms were very clean with all the amenities. The wifi was very good. Highly recommended.

River Glamping by Gaga bees se nachází v Udawalawe v okrese Ratnapura, 8 km od národního parku Udawalawe. Nabízí gril a výhled do zahrady. Na místě je soukromé neplacené parkoviště. Modu was a wonderful and super attentive host. He couldn’t have done enough for us. He arranged for us to have a late breakfast after we had done our safari tour, and even gave us plentiful snacks for the journey out. All of his food was delicious. The surroundings of the area are wonderful and rich in nature with the lovely waterfall at the back. The tent was very cosy and large.
