My wife and I only stayed at Eglinton Valley Camp for one night, and we really wish we had been there longer! It was absolutely wonderful! The room itself was amazing - spacious, comfortable, warm, and it had a kitchen where we were able to cook our dinner. The price was very reasonable, and the view was incredible. We unfortunately got rained out for most of the time we were there, so we definitely need to come back. I would recommend a stay at Eglinton Valley Camp to anyone!

Set in park-like grounds on the shores of Lake Te Anau, 5 minutes' walk from the town centre, Te Anau Lakefront Backpackers has both mountain and lake views from the majority of the rooms. We stayed twice at the Lakefront Backpackers, before and after the Milford Track. It's the best and most affordable choice in Te Anau and a much better value than anything in Queenstown. A well run hostel. Very clean and many different hang out options. Great location by the lake. The bed was so comfortable with crisp linens. They have locker boxes for excess stuff while you are on trail. This first time, we stayed in the double room above the parking lot (9B). It has wide window front and a cute shared kitchenette.

Super spacious kitchenette, awesome shower and kitchen. Laundry room was the best we have seen in 3 weeks. They had also a plunger with coffee powder which was excellent.

This was a really good place. Henry was very friendly and helped me very good with whatever needed. Got me also the best deal for the too sound cruises. They try to make it a home and not just a camping.

We stayed three nights and had time to enjoy both Te Anau and Milford Sounds. We were a bit hesitant of the dimensions at first but at the end we ate at home and the kitchen had everything we needed, and having dinner outside in the garden was very peaceful.
