The views were excellent, the morning bread was very thoughtful, the hammocks on the balcony were a great touch, everything was very comfortable, and the staff was very attentive. It’s also a 6-8 hour round trip to pico do Areiro hiking from the shelters, just follow the markers.

Lovely cabin surrounded by mountain views, we saw so many stars at night. There's a great place to eat and drink (O Barracão), just 10 mins walk from the cabin, and it's only 20 minutes drive from Funchal (we had a rental car, but I believe there's a bus stop nearby too). It felt like a little home away from home, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent and the little kitchenette had a stove top, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fridge. Our host was wonderful, very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again!

Bedding, towels and shower etc of good quality. Comfortable bed. Heater warmed the cabin up nicely when required.
