An amazing place to stay - it's like a BnB meets a boutique hotel. Our room was so lovely, with a window seat looking out at the mountains. The rooftop view was even better! The owners are very nice and speak good English which is very helpful in China. We have been travelling around the world for almost 1 year now and this was one of our favourite accomodations ☺️

Mama Naxi Guesthouse je rodinný hostel provozovaný místními obyvateli Nakhi a těší se 15-leté historii. Nabízí útulné ubytování v Lijiangu. Ve všech prostorách je zdarma dostupné Wi-Fi. Cosy room (Mama Naxi upgraded us from the standard double room to the deluxe family room!), super kind staff, great facilities, 10 min walking distance from the ancient city. Plus, Mama Naxi helped us book a ticket to Tiger Leaping Gorge and offered the service of sending our backpacks and luggage to Tina’s Guesthouse at the end of the trek (from which we booked the bus to Shangri-La). Highly recommended!

Really really good and comfortable, beautiful and quiet rooms (with ac that could be used for heating too), hearty and tasty breakfast to get ready for the day. Mandy, the owner, is super helpful and nice. She helped us with our suitcases from the gate of the old town, and also offered pick-up service from the train station. She can also help with all kinds of other advice for your stay :)

We had the most wonderful experience at Timeless Inn, and a huge part of it was thanks to the incredible hosts, Rose and her husband. From the moment we arrived, they treated us not just as guests, but like old friends. As it was our first time in Shangri-La, Rose’s tips and advice were incredibly helpful. She gave us detailed guidance on what to see and do around town, local restaurant recommendations, and even how to get to each place. Her insights really helped us make the most of our stay. She also helped us call for Didi rides and even woke up as early as 6am to accompany us outside and make sure everything went smoothly. Every morning, she prepared a delicious breakfast at our preferred time, always served with a smile and friendly conversation. She shared lovely stories about Shangri-La — what it was like in the old days versus now — which added so much depth to our experience. Her husband kindly picked us up from the airport and was equally warm and welcoming. He also offers transportation and guiding services to out of town attractions, which is a great option for anyone wanting a more convenient and insightful visit. On our last day, Rose recommended we go to Balagezhong instead of Shika Mountain — and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip! The inn itself has a cozy, homely feel. Rose even upgraded our room to the second floor with a beautiful view. Though the stairs are a bit steep, she insisted on helping us carry our large luggage. The location is excellent — right inside the Ancient Town, just steps from shops, restaurants, the Giant Prayer Wheel, and the central plaza where you can enjoy Tibetan dancing every evening. Being on the edge of the old town also made it super convenient for catching a Didi — only a 1–2 minute walk, so no need to haul luggage through narrow streets. Tiger Leaping Half Way Guest House se nachází v destinaci Longpan a nabízí ubytování s terasou, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm a barem. Soutěska skákajícího tygra je 3 km daleko. We stayed here overnight while hiking along tiger leaping gorge. It's in a fantastic location with great views. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helped us book transport from Tina's back to Lijiang

I can't find the words to describe how perfect my stay was. The room was immaculate, the bedding extremely comfortable. The toiletries were top of the range. And the breakfasts... absolutely delicious! Located 2 minutes from the center, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing stay in Shaxi. The host, Lynn, was lovely and always helpful to this French tourist who doesn't speak Chinese (me)! She also sells pottery featuring the local cat mascot: Wa Mao. If I wasn't backpacking for six months, I would have loved to buy some, they're so cute. Just go! ☀️
