Absolutely fantastic stay in an authentic and local home of a wonderful Japanese couple. Great location to explore Kanazawa. The room was spacious and had everything one could need. It was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at, and it had literally everything, it would be impossible to find a thing this guesthouse didn’t have. The hosts are the sweetest and kindest people, you can feel how much effort they have poured into this lovely guesthouse. Master Gao is the perfect host as well. It was cold and rainy during my stay but I had super warm and cozy blankets and even if it was not needed while sleeping, the heater worked perfectly. I loved sleeping on a futon on tatami flooring, it was a totally new and memorable experience and in the morning I woke up very well rested. The price quality ratio is out of balance, meaning, this is a fantastic stay. Thank you so much and I hope many more travellers will make their Kanazawa visit special by staying in this guesthouse.

The couple who run the place are so, so nice, and were able to accommodate my friend’s food allergies without any problems (which, if you know Japan, you know that that’s not always the case!). Plus, the breakfast we got was huge and totally delicious. But the real draw is that the house itself is BEAUTIFUL. I can’t stress enough how charming it is- everywhere you look there’s some lovely tchotchke or antique to discover, all very lovingly arranged. There’s a huge deck outside where you can sit and enjoy the sounds of nature; a massive bath that you can share with friends/fam or keep all to yourself; a room filled with the owners’ personal collection of Showa memorabilia; etc, etc. The rooms were pretty spare but perfectly suitable, especially given all the lounge spaces in the house. Overall AMAZING experience.

Great location - just in the middle of one of the Chaya Districts - very charming and full of tea houses. Very well connected to other areas of Kanazawa as well as the main station The host and the staff were so nice to us, giving us lots of tips and making sure everything was fine. The check-in was super smooth and the stay very quiet and calm Shower was hot, the kitchen well-equipped and the room and beds comfortable

First time sleeping in a repurposed kimono storage attic and I loved it. Nina-san taught us how to make origami cranes so these could be used for a peace ceremony next year - we had a wonderful evening. Also very well located. Nina-san took time to explain walking directions and gave me recommendations for exactly what I was looking for. I would 100% encourage you to stay here!
