I had a wonderful stay at this beautifully preserved 96-year-old Japanese-style house in Yakushima. The traditional atmosphere is incredibly charming, and you can truly feel the history and care that’s gone into maintaining the home. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-kept, making it both authentic and comfortable. Kimika was an amazing host—thoughtful, welcoming, and full of great energy. The decor in the house is very nice, and the view from the house is stunning as well. In the common room, Kimika also thoughtfully provided delicious local coffee and tea from Yakushima, which added an extra touch of warmth and hospitality. The kitchen also has everything you need. The house is very close to Isso beach, which is a great place to see the sunset. This is the perfect place to unwind and connect with the beauty of Yakushima, and also connect with the locals. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a unique and memorable experience on this magical island.

The hospitality was impeccable. The host was always available for everything. Probably witnessed the peak of Japanese culture (with people being helpful in every way possible) here. The host (without even us asking him for anything) found that our shoes were wet after a trek put them for drying (on a drying machine) only for us to find the shoes all dried up the next day. Unbelievable. The location is walkable from the port and has house had everything you’d need. The kitchen and the shower was equipped with everything that you’d need during your stay. The house was small but very clean. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time staying at this charming and very comfortable accommodation that has a unique character of special interest to classic car lovers, like our son. We had a very warm welcome from Yuki, and loved the cedar lined room. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing, Yuki also gave us some great recommendations for walking and onsen while we were on the island. Dinner was also a real treat with freshly caught fish and fruit from the local farm. Would recommend if you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing.
