The best thing by far was the gorgeous bicycles for going up and down the Shining Sea path which backs onto the property!

The rooms at The Merchant are fitted with a flat-screen TV with cable channels. Location! History! and Amazing Staff. We were so thrilled to stay at the Merchant for the proximity to everything. And how cool to stay in one of the well known historical buildings in all of Salem!! I cannot speak more highly of the staff who were so attentive and helpful pre-arrival and then through our stay. They are not on site in the evenings (after 5pm) and there are not elevators if that's something you require.

Periwinkle has been completely renovated to a high standard and was designed by Nantucket Looms. The inn is set to reopen Memorial Day Weekend, 2023!

They include fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, overnight oat, curated egg dish and homemade sweet and savory pastries. Breakfast was healthy and had interesting choices. Loved the central courtyard. Loved the glass refillable sparkling water jars.
