The pool, the garden, the lovely evening lights. the beautiful cooked fresh food, the garden butterflies all added to the restful experience at Cat Bà Papillon. The staff were helpful in organising collection from any point on the Island and organising onward transfer to Hanoi. As a solo traveller, I felt safe comfortable and looked after very well. Excellent value for 1 person and even better value for 2 persons. Lovely stay and lovely people

While looking for a bus to come to Cat Ba Island in Hanoi, I asked for help by sending a message to the phone number of Napoli Hostel. While doing this, I stated that I did not speak enough English. The receptionist responded to me immediately and helped me. He paid for my bus ticket and bought me a ticket and sent me the location of the contact point so that I could get on the bus without any problems. I did not pay any fee to the bus company and he said that it would be paid at the hotel. He said that you do not pay for the bus and room in advance like in other places, but you pay when you leave. The room is very clean and has a separate toilet and bathroom and they give you a free towel upon arrival. The toilet and bathroom are very large, the beds are very clean and nice. It is a perfect quiet place for a comfortable sleep. There are varieties of breakfast and they are all nice and delicious. There are free cookies, biscuits and tea in the lobby. The girl working at the reception is your perfect organization partner and does not let anything happen otherwise. She arranged my boat tour and bought my bus ticket for the return to Hanoi and the prices are low. He took care of me in every way during my stay at the hotel and asked if I needed anything. I have been in Vietnam for more than a month and I can say that he is the best receptionist I have ever seen. I thank him.

This place is incredible. The crew were very welcoming and warm, the room was beautiful and full of detail, including a window to the sea below the floating home, and many carefully designed spots to just lay down and enjoy the landscape. They arranged all the transportation for us, even picking is up at Viet Hai after a cruise trip, and trip back to Hanoi by boat/taxi/bus. Besides the human side, what is most stunning in this place is the fact that you get to spend the night in a really unique settlement, call the 'supermarket boat' if you need anything, or sail to a fisherman house to buy some fish to cook for yourself, getting a glimpse of the life in this special corner of earth. I would recommend it in a thousand lifes!

Super clean, i mean really - this home is immaculate. The plants are beautiful and well kept, and the carp were cool. The gentleman who welcomed us was very kind and helpful. We didn't stay long but he still kept our bags for us for 2 nights and helped us when we needed him. Highly recommend this place.

Everything feels fresh and new, from the modern design to the clean, roomy space in the bedroom. The team at reception were kind and attentive, always with a smile, which made a big difference to my experience. The breakfast buffet was generous with both Western and Vietnamese options, all delicious. I joined one of the Lan Ha Bay excursions and it turned out to be a highlight — the scenery was breathtaking and the trip ran very smoothly.

Loved every bit of it. The staff here are bloody legends — always smiling, super helpful, and just make you feel right at home. The room was roomy as, bed comfy as anything, and the shower had cracking water pressure (none of that weak drizzle stuff). Location’s spot on — right in the thick of it, close to everything you’d wanna see or do in Cat Ba. Honestly, couldn’t have picked a better spot if I tried.
