Very nice hotel, located a few kilometers away from Tarrafal and the playas. It is in a small village, very quiet and with ocean views. The appartment was really clean, and very well furnished. Many items in the kitchen, 2 bedrooms with comfortable beds and 4 balconies! The breakfast is amazing (we were only eating breakfast and in the evening, as the breakfast was really generous), and the lady serving it and doing housekeeping is so nice.

A nice view from a spacious balcony, beautiful interior and gorgeous paintings on the wall. It was fascinating to stay here for one night in our trip through the island. Apart of that, we got the receipt and tasting of craft grog drink which is so good.

The location is great, although the surrounding area (streets) is still under construction so it can be rough terrain to walk through to the main village if you are not able to walk well. Spectaculair view of the sea and the waves crashing on the rocky coast. Breathtaking! House is clean and well maintained. Garden too. Multiple rooms are rented out and you share the kitchen, living room and outside area with swimming pool. The coast in town has a little beach but is more a place where the locals put there fishing boats in the water. Sometimes someone swims there and that is possible but it is dark brown beach sand and quite big waves, so we didn’t swim in the sea there. If you rent a car somewhere you would be able to visit other places in the island from Cidade Velha. Staff very friendly and stay out of your way. We didn’t take the breakfast, but there is the possibility. The caretaker showed us the way to the village and the small supermarket shops for some groceries. There isn’t much available, but Praia is very close by (you can take a local white transportation van for only a euro into Praia on the main road) and it is a very nice place to stay away from the big town. We stayed in multiple places in Santiago and thought this was the most beautiful location to stay in the island.

I had a wonderful stay at Kazarao di Mavete. The guesthouse is very clean, nicely decorated, and located in a quiet but central area of Praia. I really appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. The host, Eddy, was incredibly kind and helpful. He made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. On top of that, he is an amazing guide — he organizes tours to the most beautiful and unmissable places around Praia and Santiago Island. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a good bed and a strong shower. I also enjoyed the coffee corner and the little touches that made the stay special. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Praia. Thank you Eddy!

Located in the heart of the old town, this is a great place to stay. The owners are very friendly and communication was excellent. You can walk everywhere around the old town from here. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Full kitchen to make your own meals and coffee.

The room was basic but clean, comfortable and I slept really well. Excellent location near all the landmarks, restaurants and shops in the plateau. I also got free tea and coffee during my stay and I had access to a kitchen and a common area.
