The Pimampiro was an amazing place to stay on my trip to San Cristobal. The room was large, the bed was enormous, the shower always had hot water & a very quiet fridge ( some are really noisy at night). Breakfast was very good quality products & they catered to my dietary needs with understanding & kindness. The hosts were exceptional people, Andrea was very attentive, helpful & informative in all aspects of my stay. I couldn’t have asked for more from her or her father, who was very professional and friendly in his interactions. I would love to stay again if I return to Cristobal.

I felt at home and lucky to found this lovely space in San Cristobal and most of all this genuine family atmosphere! Nestled in their beautiful and pristine home, you find both space and tranquility. A mere 15-minute stroll takes you to the vibrant city center and the stunning Playa Man beach is also 15 minutes walk. A spacious room adorned with large windows and an unused but available AC. and super clean bathroom. The kitchen, a haven of cleanliness and enjoy other travelers. The family is really kind, trustworthy, attentive, caring, humane, and authentically helpful. Though the internet might not be the speediest, a satellite antenna investment promises improvement in just a few days. Additionally, they offer snorkeling equipment for a mere $2.50, making your underwater adventures affordable. While I wish they also rented bikes for easy exploration, my overall stay was marked by warmth, cleanliness, and the charm of a truly authentic experience.

Air conditioning, hot showers, big rooms with storage space, comfy beds, clean with daily housekeeping, filtered drinking water, free breakfast every morning on a beautiful terrace, walkable to the main part of town but far enough removed for quiet, laundry available, quick communication. But best of all, the hostel hosts Trudy and Ivan were the most wonderful people and completely made our stay. Ivan has lived his whole life on San Cristobal and worked as a fisherman, and Trudy is descended from the first descendants of Floreana Island (also in the Galapagos). They are so kind and friendly, helped us with information and recommendations, and we so appreciated getting to learn about them and their story. If you stay at Hostal Cattleya, you support a true local family. We love you Trudy and Ivan!

Super clean and comfortable and so friendly! I was able to borrow a snorkel and do laundry too which was massively appreciated. It's a little walk from the main street and nice to be further away from the busy area. Also within easy walking distance of the airport. Overall, excellent value.

The best bakery right across the road, 5 minute walk to the harbour and shops, walking distance to all beaches. Our host, Jairo was the absolute best, so lovely and helpful. Organised a tour for us to see tortoises which was very cheap.

The house was spotless—Luisa did an amazing job keeping everything clean. It’s about an 8 to 10-minute walk from the pier, but if you don’t feel like walking, taxis are very affordable—just $2 flat between the town and the house, and $2.50 to the airport. The water pressure was excellent, and there was always plenty of hot water. We found two nearby markets perfect for grabbing snacks and breakfast items. The air conditioning worked flawlessly, and the area was quiet at night, making it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The internet was fast and consistent throughout our stay. Luisa is incredibly kind and attentive—she goes out of her way to learn your name and is always available if you need anything. The only small item I can recommend is having a small shelf inside the shower for toiletries.

The apartment has everything you need, Mauricio the owner is super helpful and you can always reach out to him for any question about the apartment but also about the Island and everything you need to know about Galapagos (tours, taxis…). We recommend also his tour agency, we did the 360 tour and it was amazing.
