Located in the middle of Monroe Island this house is just the best place to visit this part of India with authenticity. Karun (the host) is just super nice and he will make you feel at home at every moment. He booked for me a beautiful boating tour at the sunrise. He was always asking if I need food for lunches and dinners and served me delicious dishes when asked, directly at home. He also lended his scooter to let me visiting around the area. Just the best host I could ask for.

Munroeisland Backwaters Homestay, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Munroe Island, 44 km from Varkala Cliff, 45 km from Sivagiri Mutt, as well as 46 km from Janardhanaswamy Temple. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Kollam Railway Station is 24 km away. Beautiful homestay just a few steps away from the water. Our stay in Monroe Island was one of the highlights of our three weeks in India and definitely some of the best food we ate on our trip (cooked by Vijeesh’s very talented sister and mum) During our stay we done a sunrise and sunset canoe tour with Vijeesh both were fantastic and we felt very safe throughout. Vijeesh as a host was very knowledgeable, helpful and funny and we felt very welcomed by the family as soon as we arrived. Vijeesh and his family have made something really special with this homestay and I would 100% recommend to anyone.
