My stay at this hostel in Canmore was absolutely perfect. From the moment I arrived, the receptionists were super friendly and helpful – they made me feel right at home. They also gave me great tips on nearby hikes and local spots to eat (definitely ask them if you're not sure where to start!). The bed was really comfortable – perfect after a full day of outdoor adventures. But the best part? The views. I had a room with a window facing the mountains and waking up to that scenery each morning was just breathtaking. If you can, try to get a room with mountain views – it adds something really special to the experience. The hostel was clean, cozy, and had a relaxed vibe that made it easy to meet other travelers. Plus, it’s in a great location – close to the town center and with easy access to amazing trails. I’d absolutely stay here again next time I’m in Canmore. It’s a great base whether you're into hiking, skiing, or just relaxing and soaking in the views. Highly recommend!

Large living room area to meet fellow travelers. Free coffee and waffles for breakfast. Hostel owner family on top of one's needs and simply great people.

After 3days train trip, the only thing I needed was a hot shower. The staff were very kind and offered me to use the shower before check-in. This is my second time staying here. The location is convenient and close to many restaurants. The room is comfortable, warm, and clean. Highly recommended!

HI Calgary City Centre is located in East Village, right around the corner from downtown. Free coffee and tea is provided all day. Location, the staff was amazingly helpful and patient. the room was quiet and you can have a good sleep there ! i definitely recommend it for those who are looking for a cheap and nice place :) Thank you for the service.

Set amid the Canadian Rockies in Banff National Park, this hostel boasts an on-site cafe and 2 self-catering guest kitchens. It includes private storage for guests and acts as a ski pass vendor. Harry, the front desk staff was very accommodating. He upgraded my room from a mixed dorm to a private! I was really pleased with my stay. Keep up the good work!

Boasting Rocky Mountain views, HI-Banff Alpine Centre offers a café and a bar. Free WiFi and self catering kitchens are available for guests to use. Banff town centre is 4 minutes' drive away. Expensive for a small private room with no ensuite but the cheapest in the area. Was quiet and had a nice atmosphere.

The hostel is well-run by Lars, who gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. The 12-bed dorms are actually split into two parts with 6 beds each which provided a more private and quiet experience than expected. With no electricity, no phone reception, and only 1 hour wifi per day, the hostel forces you to disconnect and instead enjoy the nature, the sauna, and each others' company. With only around 20km to Lake Louise, it is the ideal base for exploring some of the highlights in Banff.
