My stay at the New Gate Hostel in Jerusalem, which is part of the Notre Dame Guest House, was truly excellent. The location is perfect — right by the Old City, making it easy to explore Jerusalem’s most important sites on foot. The atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming, with a unique blend of history and comfort. The staff were kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with any request. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering great value for the price. I especially appreciated the quiet environment and the feeling of safety throughout my stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend the New Gate Hostel to anyone visiting Jerusalem. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next trip.

A very clean hostel with a nice central area for eating or visiting. The patio offers fantastic views. It is quiet and secure, if not a little hard to find off the street. No worries though - other hostelers pointed us to the right door! The location is very good and restaurants are nearby. You can get a meal or groceries late at night and just around the corner. The beds were comfortable in the private room we had, and the towels were fresh. If you need a ride to the airport, make sure the staff secures it and confirms it for you in the daytime and when it is not a holiday. We couldn't take the train due to the holiday closure, and even though we had made a reservation, the confirmation was not secure, and we almost missed our flight due to a no-show. That being said, the kind lady at the front desk worked feverishly toward an alternate ride for us. We couldn't have asked for more dedication and effort. She took responsibility, and we are grateful to her for helping us make our flight. Definitely a good place to stay - better than some "four star" hotels we stayed in!
