Both the owner and the hostess were very friendly and helpful with tips about the city. The welcome sake with local sweets it was more than delicious. We loved everything about it! I wish we had more than one night there!

The location is perfect, a few minutes walk from a really cute train station. The accommodation is spotless and very well set up, with excellent kitchen facilities and a nice place to eat and relax. The bunk beds were really comfortable. The staff were helpful and welcoming. There's a wonderful community onsen close by, well worth a visit.

This traditional Japanese-style house is full of character and beautifully designed with great attention to detail. While it’s not a fully private room, the sleeping area is well separated, offering a comfortable sense of privacy. Sounds do carry a bit, as it’s an old house, but the creativity in the space makes each stay feel fresh and inspiring. It’s conveniently located—about 10 minutes by bus to Shin-Suizenji Station and around 15 minutes to central Kumamoto. The nearby “Gootarian” space is also a nice addition. The area has historic spots like Kengun Shrine, perfect for a morning walk. With shops, supermarkets, and convenience stores nearby, it’s easy to grab a bento or snacks and relax at the accommodation. It really feels like staying in a local home. Free parking is a big plus. I prefer not to drive at night, so being able to park and explore by bus has worked out perfectly.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was large and clean. Our room was the family room with a decent sized playhouse inside where the kids play and even sleep. The building is old, but has been remodeled and is comfortable. The baked goods in the cafe on the 1st floor are delicious, and the cafe is whimsical and charming. There’s a kid’s playroom at the back of the cafe which was great for us, a group with lots of kids. There are also many ceramic wares by local artists for sale. I’d like to visit when the weather is cooler and explore the neighborhood.
