This place is a little gem right by the river, you can sleep at night with the sound of the river which is pretty magical. If you are looking for privacy the ensuite room is perfect and comfort. The hostel beds are also good and right in front of the river. I love the fact that you feel in the middle of nowhere but at the same time you are just 15min away from the city. The place is quiet, secure and comfortable.

I’ve been to many hostel in my life and this one was by far the BEST ! Ocean view. Friendly staff!Amazing kitchen! Towel for the beach. Providing Small coolers and and chairs for the beach! The girls dorm was perfect with the curtains for the bed, hooks everywhere, powers sockets for each bed, big mirror and ear plugs!!!!! Great location ! I would go back to this place on a heart beat!

Fata Morgana is a haven of peace. Everything about the gardens, the communal kitchen and my room showed pride of ownership. Edit met me with a smile. She answered my many questions with great patience. If you get a chance go hiking with her. She is a certified tour guide and you couldn't be in more capable hands. I spent three weeks at Fata Morgana. I felt I was part of an extended family. Edit has a heart of gold and rescues animals who need a loving home. The dogs and two donkeys are testimonial to how caring Edit is. There are many beaches close by; all of them lined by palm trees. Gorgeous turquoise ocean too. The scenario looks straight out of a travel brochure. If you don't care to walk you can flag down one of the many "conchos" (motorcycle taxis) who will whisk you for CAD$3 either into town or to the beach. My two favourite beaches where Playa Bonita and Playa Popi Punta (lovely drift wood at the point). Lots of grocery stores in town where you can get everything your heart desires. Make sure you visit the gelato place with its many tropical flavours. A really yummy treat. If you are thinking about booking this place don't hesitate. You will be rewarded by a clean room, comfy bed, hammock swinging at your front porch. There was also a perfect space in the common sitting area to unroll my yoga mat. During my daily practice I noticed many tropical birds and butterflies. Fata Morgana is a magical place. I hope I will be back there real soon.

It is a unique place with a wonderful host. The room was very clean, and we enjoyed walking in the farm among the coconut trees and the beautiful river. We had a peaceful and comfortable stay, would definitely come back!

Small shops around for the basic needs. Very friendly owner, always around with helpful tips about the area. The facilities are basic, but sufficient - AC in the room (a bit noisy, but it works). A very chill, backpacking vibe.

Marian was absolutely amazing, helpful and attentive. He made sure my stay was as comfortable, private and peaceful as possible. The location is beautiful, it is a little hard to get to but once you get there it is definitely worth the trip .
