The beds were soooo comfortable, and they were real beds not bunk beds, the roof was very high, and the sleeping room was clean, for the showers the water was hot,and they were cleaned regularily, and the socialising room looked like a phenomenal pinterest room for me, it has a variety of beautiful collected stuff, woody furniture everywhere, and beautiful peranakan tiles and design, booklets about penang and a collection of books, and a piano, a working one. I enjoyed staying in the socialising room, to the point that I started thinking that I should buy a house similar to that and settle there, The owner was so kind and helpful, and he came regularly to clean the house, and the location of the hostel was perfect close to anything you may ever need. I just loved this house, it felt like a real warm home, not a mere hostel, and I met lots of sweet girls there, what a wonderful experience! I wish there were more only females hostels like this one in every city.

Amazing staff and interesting fellow travellers to share stories and ideas with in three areas to socialise: the downstairs work/eating area, the rooftop kitchen and table, and the rooftop seating area. A beautiful spacious modern building perfectly situated in the historic old city. For me, a big YES was the crisp clean air in the soundproof 36-bed mixed dormitory, the spacious downstairs workspace, the big clean showers and toilets, and the suitably equipped kitchen on the rooftop for making own meals and saving some cash on my 10 week trip through Malaysia. Cold and hot drinks water on tap at two dispensers. An army of staff and volunteers were constantly at work keeping the floors spotless. Brilliant management of making the stay comfortable, clean, and safe. Kudos to all involved. Large two-shelved lockers outside the dorms made keeping things tidy easier. Excellent value for money. I am highly unlikely to try anywhere else if I am in Penang again. An 11/10!

Sogor Female Dormitory se nachází v destinaci George Town. Wonderfood Museum se nachází 2,9 km daleko a Penang Times Square 1,7 km. Sogor Female Dormitory is honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! I feel so lucky to have had the chance to stay here for 3 nights—it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even though I came as a solo backpacker, I never felt alone. I ended up meeting two amazing foreigners during my stay, and we connected instantly. The environment is clean, hygienic, and very well maintained. The washrooms are spotless, the laundry area is convenient, and the public space is super comfortable—perfect for relaxing or chatting with other travelers. This hostel gave me not only a safe and comfy place to stay, but also meaningful memories and new friendships. I highly recommend it to any solo female traveler out there. I’d easily rate it 10/10!

Amore Stay se nachází v destinaci George Town a nabízí pokoje s klimatizací a sdílenou koupelnou. Jen 2 km odtud se nachází Pláž Northam Beach a Wonderfood Museum je 700 metrů daleko. Clean, tidy, comfortable, quiet, modern with all necessary facilities. Dorms have no windows but it did not bother me as they are spacious enough. AC works perfectly. Communication with the staff was smooth and helpful.

The facilities are simple. It was super clean and so far best accommodation I had in Malaysia on a low budget. The owners were also super nice. When we had an issue they quickly responded, helped and accommodated us. The owner also stepped by to check up on us and gave us a great list of recommendations for Penang.

Aayu Chulia - Chulia St, George Town se nachází v destinaci George Town. Pláž Northam Beach je 2,1 km daleko a Penang Times Square 1,8 km. Aayu Chulia is a gem of a hostel! it’s a home away from home! Every room is private, spacious & very clean, in a 100-yr old beautiful & historical building. Original wooden floors & stairs!!! As expected, walls are thin, but, having your own very clean & spacious room is a special treat & for a steal of a price!!! The minimal dining facility facility in a very spacious & clean lounge area is quite welcomed for making toast hot/cold beverage, & refrigerator to stash leftovers, & keep beverages/fruits cold. Best part, there’s always fresh loaf of bread everyday for a small snack! Lots of combo shower/toilet in each floor, but, in the ground floor, each room is equipped with its own combo shower/toilet. The entire building is always kept immaculate! The location is prime, smack dab in the thick of things! Restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, night market, bars are all with a minute - 5-min walk!!! Tourist sights are within a few minutes walk. Penang Hill is a 20-min Grab taxi, so is the beach. But the best part, Shane, the husband/wife duo owners, is an amazing hands on staff!!! He’s 100% very responsive & accommodating on anything you may have query on - recommendations on food, what to do, where to go, etc. or need help with - carrying your luggage up/down the stairs, because he genuinely cares! His staff are wonderful as well - so helpful, especially with my luggages!!! I am so thankful & grateful for Shane & his staff for a beautiful, very clean, very spacious private rooms hostel & top notch service in a very prime location!!! I will definitely come back & highly recommend it!!!

There is no receptionist however they communicate on whatsapp and the response time is quick. Super clean and comfortable. Right next to the famous graffiti art.
