This was my first time staying in a hostel, and honestly, Some Place Else exceeded every expectation—it was even better than staying at a hotel. The entire space is modern, clean, and clearly designed with love and attention to detail. As a solo traveler, I often feel a bit lonely on the road, but that wasn’t the case here. The hostel offers social activities every night, making it super easy to meet people. I made friends by my second night! It’s truly a great place to connect with other travelers from all over the world. The beds were comfortable and spotless, with great lighting and excellent air quality. Bathrooms and showers are ALWAYS clean, with hot and cold water available around the clock. Despite the social atmosphere, the vibe was calm and relaxing when you needed downtime. I especially loved the co-working space, kitchen and rooftop—perfect spots to unwind alone or hang out with new friends. The location is also ideal, right in the heart of Georgetown. I’m already planning to come back just to stay here again. Can’t recommend it enough—Some Place Else is a gem!

The common spaces were really modern and it was pleasant to chill there. We had access to drinking water, coffee and tea. The location was everything! We were walking everywhere as the old town is just around the corner. You also have access to multiple really tasty restaurants all around the neighborhood. I recommend this place!

Sogor Female Dormitory se nachází v destinaci George Town. Wonderfood Museum se nachází 2,9 km daleko a Penang Times Square 1,7 km. Sogor Female Dormitory is honestly one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! I feel so lucky to have had the chance to stay here for 3 nights—it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Even though I came as a solo backpacker, I never felt alone. I ended up meeting two amazing foreigners during my stay, and we connected instantly. The environment is clean, hygienic, and very well maintained. The washrooms are spotless, the laundry area is convenient, and the public space is super comfortable—perfect for relaxing or chatting with other travelers. This hostel gave me not only a safe and comfy place to stay, but also meaningful memories and new friendships. I highly recommend it to any solo female traveler out there. I’d easily rate it 10/10!

Bitterswiit Ladies Hostel se nachází v destinaci George Town v regionu Penang a nabízí terasu. Pláž Northam Beach se nachází 2 km daleko a Wonderfood Museum 600 metrů. The common area is so beautiful and inviting. The owner is very friendly and tries everything to make you feel comfortable. Because my bus was delayed, I arrived after check-in time, but it wasn't a problem. The accommodation is located in a quiet street, but still close to everything like restaurants etc. They provide water and tea, and the kitchen is well equipped in case you want to cook... I shared a room with one other girl, and we had plenty of space for our stuff. The AC is running well!

Absolutely everything! The place was new, clean, lovely finishings and great lighting. The air conditioning worked well. They offered free coffee and snacks every day for guests. They allowed early check in when our room was ready and all the staff were so lovely. We actually moved from a previous accomodation that was terrible and we were so happy when we arrived to Amore Stay. Fantastic location, wonderful owners. Would definitely stay again!

Aayu Pantai - George Town, Penang se nachází v destinaci George Town. Pláž Northam Beach se nachází 2,4 km daleko a Penang Times Square 1,6 km. The location was very convenient as it is close to a lot of local eateries and bus stops that goes places. It is also close to a lot of the main attractions in george town. The room that I had was spacious and what I expected it to be. Bed was comfortable. The showers and toilets are plentiful in numbers albeit a little bit cramped in my opinion. PS: this place is self check in. They do have someone on site and they do send out a text message on whats app about the password for the main door and the room door. Just make sure you get the text message from them prior to your visit here. Communication is prompt and concise.

Aayu Chulia - Chulia St, George Town se nachází v destinaci George Town. Pláž Northam Beach je 2,1 km daleko a Penang Times Square 1,8 km. Everything was great : the staff is so helpful and super friendly ! you can’t ask for a better location in Georgetown ! thanks again for this amazing stay ! i recommend this guesthouse without any hesitation !

Aayu Seckchuan - 3 mins walk to Love Lane se nachází v destinaci George Town a nabízí pokoje s klimatizací a sdílenou koupelnou. I really enjoyed my stay at Aayu sekchuan. The building has a lovely heritage charm but feels modern and well-kept inside. My room was spacious, clean, and quiet—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is super convenient, with lots of food, cafes, and sights within walking distance. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again next time I’m in Penang!
