Blueys Shack is a modern take on the Australian beach shack. Built in 2018, this two bedroom getaway is both innovative and beautifully crafted. Designed to emphasise its stunning tropical setting and positioned to take in the sun all day long, it's easy to kick back and relax here.
A family friendly get away only 200 meters to the beach.
Part prefabricated (made in Melbourne) and part onsite bespoke build, Blueys Shack is both contemporary and unique. In late 2017 two modules containing the kitchen and bedrooms were dropped into place. We then had a super talented builder & furniture maker friend go to work on bridging the gap between the modules. The living area (including huge hand made doors and custom built windows) , shower room and surrounding deck are all made from a combination of beautiful local and reclaimed Blackbutt timber. With a small footprint in mind, we designed the house to open out to its beautiful setting and make the most of its sunny north aspect and tropical location. The result is a pretty cool beach shack we hope you'll love hanging out in.
Living Area:
The handmade pivot doors swing out to the lovely decking area and create a large open space. Sea breeze will flow through this section perfectly to keep the shack cool during summer months. In the few colder months, the doors and louvre windows can be shut and the Nectre fireplace lit up for the ultimate cosy space. Furnished with MCM House couch and love seats its a pleasure to to kick back in here anytime of the year!
Kitchen:
The 'food truck' windows open up to the breakfast bar and decking to create a nice hang spot whilst cooking. With a Bosch oven and cook top, high quality utensils and a Mocha Master coffee machine it's made to enjoy time cooking up feasts.
Outdoor shower:
Another bespoke section, the idea was to bring the shower to the outdoors and let the plants come in!
Note the toilet and laundry (with Bosch washing machine & dryer) are connected to this space.

Pacific Palms is surrounded by beaches, lakes and national parks.
It's a quiet and tranquil setting where not a lot happens. Explore the beaches, Blueys (200 metre walk), Boomerang, Elizabeth and Celito are all close by and all different and wonderful in their own way.
The lakes, Wallis, Myall & Smith are all close by and host a variety of activites including boating, fishing, swimming and e-foiling. There also just stunning to sit by and eat a few fresh oysters.
Further afield you have mountain bike park of Kiwwarrik near Taree, and Big Air Bike park in Tuncurry (if it's been wet and the kids are loosing their minds it's a good option).
In Blueys itself, there's a wonderful bottle shop with a stunning collection of wines, and Kambali has a great selection of Balinese inspired dishes. The "Recky" is the local RSL located on the shore of Smith Lake has a menu of pub classics and Oysters on a Sunday afternoon.
Up in Forster, a favourite is Pezzella's Pizzeria for authentic Napoli style pizza.
If you're after a milky coffee (as opposed to using the Mocha Master in the Shack for a filter coffee), Drift up at Blueys is always a good option.
