A hidden gem in the lush green Maggia Valley, a region of outstanding natural beauty with its many stunning waterfalls. The spectacular MAGGIA WATERFALL is through the woods just behind our house! Casa alla Cascata is situated in the quietest part of the village, surrounded by vineyards, and offers a sweeping view of the valley and surrounding mountains. It is just a few metres from the starting point of the Valle del Salto hiking trail and a few minutes' walk from a sandy beach with crystal-clear water. We look forward to welcoming you to our little corner of paradise at CASA ALLA CASCATA (=house by the waterfall), with our GARDEN OF THE SENSES, in the picturesque village of MAGGIA! We speak English, German, Italian, French, Spanish and dog/cat language! NON-SMOKING ACCOMMODATION. Dogs allowed in the apartment (maximum: 2). The garden is fully fenced. If you are bringing a dog, you are free to take the dog into the garden with you but we ask that our guests keep their dog on a lead and take them outside the garden to do their business as we grow a variety of edible herbs in the garden. A warm welcome awaits you from your hosts, Tanya Harvey Ciampi & Angelo Ciampi, our daughter Nitzia from Peru, our friendly Border collie Bob and two affectionate Maine Coon cats (who love being fed their cat treats by our guests!!). Tanya Harvey Ciampi works from home as a freelance English translator; Angelo Ciampi teaches Italian at a Swiss university. Whenever we bake a cake, we will bring you over a slice to enjoy as you soak up the sun and greenery from your terrace with a magnificent view!
The famous Maggia Waterfall is just behind the house! Your hosts are available to accompany you there and show you the different pools and access routes. Maggia is centrally located in the Maggia valley and offers the most facilities of the entire valley, with 3 supermarkets, a chemist, a doctor's surgery, a bank, a famous bakery, several restaurants and bars. The pretty lakeside towns of Ascona and Locarno are a 10 minute drive away. The Verzasca valley with its famous James Bond 007 hydroelectric dam is a short drive away.
