A short local guide around Torre Millenium
1. Malecón Simón Bolívar Malecón 2000
Just minutes from Torre Millenium, this celebrated boardwalk along the Guayas River stretches over 2.5 km. It’s lined with gardens, cafes, sculptures, fountains, museums, and outdoor eateries. Ideal for strolls or riverside dining experiences.
2. Las Perla Ferris Wheel
Located at the northern end of Malecón 2000, this 57 m-high Ferris wheel. Ecuador’s largest offers spectacular panoramic views of the river and city skyline. Each air‑conditioned gondola ride lasts about 12 minutes and is especially magical at sunset or night.
3. Las Peñas & Cerro Santa Ana
This picturesque historic neighborhood features colorful colonial houses, art galleries, quaint cafés, and narrow cobblestone streets leading up the 444‑step staircase to Cerro Santa Ana. Once at the top, stunning views, a small lighthouse, cannons, and artisan shops await.
4. Torre Morisca (Clock Tower)
An iconic Moorish-style clock tower right on the Malecón, it was built between 1930 and 1931. Since 2023, the upper floors have been open to the public (Thu–Sun), offering a unique city-river vista.
5. MAAC – Museo Antropológico & Arte Contemporáneo
Modern and cultural at once, MAAC is a riverside museum showcasing over 50,000 archaeological artifacts and around 3,000 modern artworks, including pre-Columbian and contemporary pieces. Truly one of Guayaquil’s top cultural venues.
6. Parque Histórico Guayaquil
A short drive away, this open‑air historical park combines reconstructed colonial buildings, traditional Ecuadorian animals, a botanical garden, and cultural exhibitions. It offers a vivid taste of the region’s history and environment.
7. Parque de las Iguanas & La Rotonda
In the historic center, you’ll find the the famous green iguanas fed by visitors in a shady park and the sculptured Rotonda monument commemorating the meeting of Simón Bolívar and José de San Martín in 1822. Both are walkable from the riverside area.
