Our rural house is ideal for getaways and reunions, both for families and couples, as well as for holding events and/or workshops, as it can accommodate many guests. The house has a rich history. It was built by our ancestors several centuries earlier, in 1860, on large arches of rodeno stone, a typical substrate of the area and the entire mountain range that separates the town of Chóvar from the surrounding villages that make up the "Sierra Espadán"; a unique mountain range in the entire Mediterranean basin due to its vast cork and holm oak forests. These forests conceal magical trails and paths of great natural beauty and breathtaking views, ideal for hiking or running enthusiasts. My family, the founders of this house, have always been dedicated to the countryside for their livelihood, and in particular to the world of beekeeping, hence the name "El Colmenar" and the entire theming of the house, original and unique, which makes staying there a truly unique experience. 50-square-meter terrace! The town also has an Olympic-sized swimming pool with a bar/cocktail bar, ideal for spending the day with family, friends, or your partner. It's the one pictured in the description. Nighttime hiking trails are available along the road toward Eslida, the neighboring town in the mountains. This involves climbing up the mountain pass, where you'll hear the roar of wild boars, the owl's call, or even come across a fox. This night route passes by the Carboneras picnic area, an idyllic spot in the middle of the forest to spend time with friends! The accommodation is located between the two major provincial capitals: we are about 60 km from Valencia and about 50 km from Castellón. The nearest beach is about 20 minutes away (Sagunto).

We are a young family who run El Colmenar: my wife Eli, my youngest son Simón (who introduces the house to our guests ;-)), and myself. We are in love with nature, the world of beekeeping, and everything related to the rural world. I love sports and adventure, celebrations or events with friends, and good conversation, but also a healthy lifestyle, tranquility, and free meditation. Both day and night excursions are the main attraction; the Sierra de Espadán Natural Park is unique in the entire Valencian Community! Chóvar offers all this and more.

Chóvar is a popular spot for adventure and mountain sports enthusiasts. It's also popular with urbanites who come to escape the city in search of peace and quiet (it's located just 60 km from Valencia). It's also popular with groups of friends and/or family who come to celebrate meetings or celebrations in a special place. The villagers are very friendly and welcoming. It's not unusual for some of them to offer to act as Chóvar guides and show our guests every corner of the village. As you can see in the photos, Chóvar has a magical aura about it... There's a bar in the village center and another at the Chóvar Olympic-sized swimming pool, a meeting point that welcomes numerous visitors from other towns and cities in the summer. There's also a restaurant at the entrance to the village with a varied and high-quality cuisine. We have a private plaza in front of the house, next to the church, where you can have a snack, dinner, or just relax. Contact us for more information!
