Petäjähovi is a modern semi-detached holiday chalet, located in a peaceful area in Rukatunturi. It features forest and mountain views. During winter months, trees surrounding the property have beautiful heavy snow-cover and the illuminated steep Juhannuskallio cliff is visible from the high living room windows. The house has two bedrooms downstairs and a spacious balcony with several available extra beds.

The ski season in Ruka lasts from October until May. Ruka Ski Resort offers 39 slopes and 22 lifts. Ruka-Kuusamo provides top cross country skiing conditions and a long ski season. The area has up to 435 km of cross country ski tracks, which leave 100 m from the property. The diverse and varied ski landscapes of Ruka-Kuusamo, groomed and lit ski trails and a long ski season that spans from October to April offer skier excellent conditions for their favourite pastime. Ski trails are available to all visitors free of charge. Ski trail condition information and printed ski trail maps are also available free of charge. You can find many charming ski trail cafés along the most popular ski trails in the Ruka area. Taking a break from skiing to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate with a doughnut, sledding or an encounter with husky dogs and reindeer will get kids enthusiastic about a skiing trip! Kuusamo is a hiker’s dream destination! Valleys carved deep, gorges with steep rock walls, canyons, fast-flowing rivers and waterfalls, fells and primeval forests create the perfect setting for day trips as well as longer hikes. Located in Kuusamo, the Karhunkierros Trail is the most famous hiking trail in Finland, but there are plenty of other hiking trails and walkable attractions, one more stunning than the other. Pyhän Jyssäys snow shoe/hiking trail goes by the property.
