IG @suvantokoto is an authentic Lapland kelo log cabin on the peaceful banks of the Kemijoki River, just 15 km from Rovaniemi. The cabin is part of a quiet rural riverside community — you’ll enjoy your own private plot and beautiful views, without feeling isolated or far from services. Inside, you’ll find everything you need for a warm and comfortable stay: a cozy living room with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, a traditional wood-heated sauna, and two Lapland-style sleeping rooms that are partially open near the ceiling to keep the cabin warm in winter. Perfect for couples and families who enjoy a cozy and connected atmosphere. Each season brings its own magic here — snowy silence and auroras in winter, midnight sun in summer, the colours of ruska in autumn, and bright spring days by the river.

Built in 1972 by Miikka’s grandfather, the cabin has been carefully maintained by us – Miikka & Sanna – to preserve its original spirit. We speak Finnish and English, live nearby and are happy to help, but once you arrive the place is entirely yours to enjoy in peace.

The surroundings are peaceful and private, with forest paths starting almost at the doorstep and views of the river opening directly from the yard. Although Suvantokoto feels wonderfully remote, Rovaniemi’s services, restaurants and supermarkets are only a short 15–20 minute drive away. Most guests choose the cabin as a quiet base for their own plans — whether that means exploring Lapland by day or simply enjoying slow mornings, evenings by the fireplace and the calm of the river.
