Welcome to Maison du Maître — A Home Steeped in Character and Warmth
We’re a couple — one of us a designer, the other a rugby player — who fell in love with the timeless charm of Maison du Maître, a grand and characterful home nestled in the heart of Chalabre, a historic village in the Aude region of southern France.
Set within an old, established building, Maison du Maître offers a unique stay that blends heritage, comfort, and style. The house is a living storybook — high ceilings, original wooden floors, winding staircases, and sun-drenched rooms all speak to a past well-lived. We've carefully restored and curated each space, layering vintage pieces with modern touches to create an atmosphere that feels both elegant and inviting.
Whether you're wandering the cobbled streets of Chalabre, cycling the nearby Voie Verte, exploring Cathar castles, or simply enjoying a glass of wine in the courtyard, this is a place to slow down, reconnect, and experience the rhythm of French village life.
We’ve poured our passions into this home — from thoughtful interiors to cozy corners perfect for reading or conversation. Our hope is that every guest feels a sense of welcome, rest, and inspiration while staying here.
