The property is located on a plateau just above the old perched village of la Roque-sur-Pernes. From this location derive the distinctive qualities of the property: the vast and flat plot (5.000m²) allows comfortable outdoor facilities, ensures tranquility and the absence of vis-à-vis ; the slightly dominant position on the valley ensures beautiful sunsets almost every night. The Gecko offers a large swimming pool (14 x 5.5 m²), placed on a wide terrace. A large patio with a stone table, plancha and light is available for summer diners. The covered terrace, adjoining the vast living room, communicates with the latter by two sliding glass doors, always wide-open in summer. The house of 156m² has been fully reschuffled in 2018. It features a central air-conditioning system. On request, pieces of furniture for babies are provided. There is also a wine cabinet where we put at your disposal our selection of local wines at cost

I wanted to pay a special attention to practical information, so that you can immediately feel comfortable at the Gecko, and enjoy its pieces of equipment. For that purpose, I prepared a "welcome" folder, which you will find prominently when entering the house. It includes information about the property (internet connection, operation of air conditioning, garbage collection, where to find garden and pool accessories etc.) and the surrounding area (food shops, market places etc.). You will also find tourist information: besides the links to the websites of the local tourist offices, very well documented, I give you some of my favorite places, in both the nature and culture domains. In addition, do not hesitate to contact me for any question: I will be reachable either by the Booking messaging system, or by phone. A last word to explain the name that was given to the property, i.e. the Gecko. It is a charming little animal that may come and visit you at night, clinging to a wall, in the garden or at the terrace. It is very discreet and totally harmless! Its presence is synonymous with sun, heat and calm. We wish you an excellent stay with him!

From la Roque, you are twenty minutes drive from popular cities: Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (its canals, its countless bars and restaurants, the 3rd world platform of antiques), Carpentras (its shopping streets, its Friday market that settles in the old city, the Inguimbertine museum in the superb Hotel-Dieu), and Pernes-les-Fontaines (its mansions, its gardens in the maze of alleys, and of course its forty fountains). On the nature side, you are between Mount Ventoux, a cyclist hot spot, and the Luberon and its cedar forest. Do not miss the gorge Toulourenc: it's a walk for the whole family, feet in the water, unforgettable. Just like the descent of the Sorgue in canoe! On the sports side, let's mention the many mountain bike trails, the Saumane golf course, the via ferrata in Cavaillon. On the cultural side, there is indeed the Avignon theater festival, but also the Roque d'Anthéron piano festival, the Datris foundation in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue which offers each year a new and free exhibition of modern art. In the neighbourhood are some must-see tourist sites: the Abbey of Sénanque, the village of Gordes, the resurgence of Fontaine de Vaucluse , the Pope palace in Avignon!
