The big open skies are superb for sunsets. A large variety of birds visit regularly, the clean air adding to the variety of insects and butterflies. The pool is situated to take best advantage of the spectacular view The houses were converted to holiday accommodation in the early 2000's. There is a programme of continual upgrade and improvement to a standard we would like to stay in ourselves! Walking and cycling from the door on the green lanes are unrivalled. Within close proximity are a wide range of activities for the more energetic, but return at the end of your day to comfortable accommodation and enjoy each others company over a glass of wine?

the countryside of the southern Charente is dominated by green oak forests and small herds of glorious Limousin cattle, interspersed with small vineyards....within a few miles that changes to more open arable land with acres of bright sunflowers in July through to August/September. We have a number of chateaux in the vicinity. A number of the "Best villages in France" are also worth a visit. If you have an interest in history the Roman baths or Oradour sur Glane (site of atrocity in WW2) are in easy access. If its sporting activity - tennis, golf, canoeing, high-ropes, etc are all within 20 minutes as are many more
