Charming 19th-Century Farmhouse in a Peaceful Hamlet
Set in a tranquil hamlet of just four occupied houses and surrounded by countryside, Owl Farmhouse offers calm and comfort in rural Creuse. The nearest town, Ahun (5 km), provides a boulangerie, supermarket, and essentials, while Guéret (14 km) has larger shops, fuel, and further services.
Ground Floor
The farmhouse features a fully equipped kitchen with a large fridge freezer, full-size dishwasher, and dining table for 8. The sitting room includes a leather sofa, an additional sofa, armchair, and TV. A convenient double bedroom is located off the sitting room, leading to a toilet with a grab handle. The shower room offers a large walk-in shower, wash basin, chair, and washing machine, with grab handles for extra support.
Upstairs
Three further bedrooms (two doubles, one twin) provide comfortable sleeping space, with quality mattresses and shutters or blackout curtains. The bathroom includes an over-bath shower, toilet, wash basin, and bidet.
Outdoor Space
Guests can enjoy a patio with table, chairs, pergola, and outdoor rug in a fenced courtyard, as well as a side garden. A large barn offers secure shaded parking for cars, motorbikes, and bicycles.
Accessibility
There are no entrance steps. The ground floor has a bedroom, shower room, toilet, kitchen, and sitting room, making the space accessible for those with limited mobility.
Children
Children are welcome, though no special equipment (cots, highchairs, etc.) is provided. Parents should bring anything needed for comfort and safety. Please note this is a quiet hamlet where respect for the calm atmosphere is important.
Pets
Friendly dogs are welcome (no cats). Marley, the resident dog next door, is very sociable, but please only bring dogs that are also friendly. As this is a farming area with livestock, dogs must be kept under control and not left alone in the property.
Hello and welcome to Owl Farmhouse. My name is Emma and I'm your host. I’m English and live in the small cottage in the corner of the property with my friendly dog, Marley. I am learning French, but my language skills are still a work in progress, so I kindly ask for a little patience.
I’m here if you have any questions or if something needs attention during your stay. I’m also happy to have a chat if you’d like, but I do my best to remain unobtrusive so you can enjoy your holiday in peace and quiet.
