Bwthyn Y Fferiwr, Ferrymans Cottage- is a listed building of historical importance. Believed to date back to the 17th century the cottage was originally used to house the ferryman who transported people and goods across the Menai Straits before the Telford bridge was built. Now lovingly transformed into modern light filled space whilst keeping its historical charm. Close to all that the town of Menai Bridge has to offer - restaurants, independent shops and Waitrose - all within a 5 minute walk. The coastal path runs right outside the front door. The property is very bijou, and is not suitable for anyone who has accessibility issues due to the narrow entrance passageway plus small bathroom. Most guests find the size and quirkiness adds to the overall experience to make for a unique and unforgettable stay. The cottage has good wifi plus Sky and Netflix streaming services now available on both TV's. The cottage has its own glass fronted balcony/patio which is accessed separately via the tiny road at the rear (less than a minute walk away). There are (restricted) views of the straits from the front aspect, plus great views of the bridge and it gets the sun (if out!) for most of the day. On nice days our guests love having their breakfast on the patio, plus wind down drinks at the end of a busy day. We provide a picnic rucksack to help maximise the experience. The cottage has been fully fitted within the tiny space to provide a quality double bed with a new Hypnos mattress (Summer2025), comfortable settee, dining table and chairs, kitchen with everything you should need. Due to the limited space, hangers are provided instead of a wardrobe - there is a good sized chest of drawers. We pride ourselves on being particularly dog friendly. We supply dog treats, bowls, blankets etc for your furry friend. We had to recently change the policy to "on request", as due to the size, we can only accommodate one dog (who will be most welcome!)
