Situated on the top (second) floor of a Grade II listed townhouse, it is away from the hustle and bustle of the town, yet within easy reach of all Alnwick's amenities. This romantic retreat is perfect for two and ideally placed for exploring the town, the castle and, indeed, the whole of Northumberland.

As well as having its own attractions - Alnwick Castle ('Hogwarts') and Gardens and Barter Books being the most famous - Alnwick is a perfect central hub for exploring Northumberland. Bamburgh Castle, Cragside House and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle, Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland Heritage Coast and Northumberland National Park are all easily accessible by car. The nearby Northumberland Coast AONB has some of the most unspoilt beaches in the country. There are frequent buses to the East Coast main line rail station at Alnmouth, from which you can get trains to Newcastle, Edinburgh, etc. Alnmouth is also served by buses up the coast to Craster, Newton-by-the-Sea, Seahouses and Bamburgh, making day trips and walks in the Northumberland Coast AONB very convenient from Alnwick. There are also express buses to Newcastle. However, most visitors will prefer the convenience of a car allowing trips inland to the Northumberland National Park, Cragside, Kielder Water, Hadrian's Wall and Newcastle (all just under 45 minutes away). Free parking is available in residents' bays on Bailiffgate for which we provide a permit, and usually it is easy to park within 15-20m of the front door.
